"Hi, sorry to interrupt your break but can I borrow you for a second?"
Danbi looked up from her phone to meet the dark brown hues of the leader's eyes. The same smile Danbi had watched appear countless times while filming showed the dimple on his cheek. She couldn't deny that he had a beautiful, warm smile that made one feel at ease and welcomed.
She nodded with a smile on her lips and got up from the table while saying goodbye to her coworkers. Her team followed the invitation and everyone had lunch together. The idols sat with their staff members, laughing and talking.
"We will meet you at the practice room." Chan inclined his head towards her colleagues and began towards the door.
The pair left the room and walked towards one of the elevators. Danbi was curious about what the older male would want or show her.
"Do you need something, Chan?" She walked beside the taller, watching his side profile.
"Not exactly needed. I have something for you."
The older grinned, showing his perfect row of teeth and dimples. A charming sight."You have something," Danbi paused. "for me?"
She was even more curious. Chan pressed the button to one of the highest floors, humming to the muted music playing in the background while taking a look at the female beside him.
He noticed the habit, she seemed to have when she got nervous to brush her hair behind her ear, fumbling with one of many earnings.
A smile tucked at the corner of his lips. He couldn't help himself but find it adorable. The sound of the elevator came faster than Danbi had anticipated. She followed the male down a hallway, illuminated beautifully by the floor-to-ceiling window front. Alternating between Art and framed pictures of the company's artists' photoshoots.
Danbi wished she had the time to take everything in, even wander around and see how the Idols worked and went on their daily schedule. She had loved doing that in the early years of her brother being an idol at the weekends after she had done her studying.
She was grateful for the peak Chan gave her by kidnapping her.
"Here we are. Welcome to Channie's Room."
Danbi almost stumbled into the male as he came to a sudden halt. Chan unlocked the door with a pin and slipped off his sneakers before entering the space. He gestured her in with another warm smile.
With her sneakers off, she carefully stepped inside the room. It wasn't necessarily big but it fit everything that was needed to record and produce songs.
It still had a homey feel to it with the green walls, the black leader sofa, a lamp and the desk with a black chair. A big TV hung on the wall above the desk, probably working as a second screen. The desk was filled with different equipment to produce sounds.
Danbi was in awe. It'd been a while since she had been to a recording studio. In the past, before moving abroad, the members of Shinee invited her to watch them record from time to time.
It was always very chaotic and funny with the now four of them. They loved spending time with her, treating her like their own little sister. After the loss of their member, they practically lived together for months looking after each other."It feels homey." Danbi redirected her focus towards Chan, who stood a little bit lost next to his desk. He rubbed the back of his neck, looking around.
"Do you think so? It's still very empty." He sounded unsure about the statement.
The room wasn't overly decorated but you could see his touch immediately. Hidden beneath the table was a basket filled with a black blanket and a small pillow. Scattered across the desk there were wolves. Figures, a plushie, pins and something that looked like a cartoon family photo.
"I like it." Danbi smiled at him and earned one from him, his ears a bit red.
They held eye contact for mere seconds before Chan abruptly turned towards his desk to grab something. His back was blocking the view for Danbi to see what it was, immediately.
"I hoped, I would be able to return it someday," Chan explained and turned towards the petite female. "I uhm... took it to a jeweller to get the clasp repaired."
Danbi furrowed her brows confused.
Chan smiled. "Sadly, Stays didn't work their crazy FBI skills this time and found out who you were at the airport. I would have given it back sooner."
He carefully reached out for her right hand, holding it and turning it over before dropping something cold inside her palm.
Her eyes widened, and she looked up to him in disbelief. Her bracelet.
