Hermione's view

A week after my incident I receive a letter from Mrs Weasley informing me that she wishes for me to come to dinner that night and to bring my husband. I look at the paper unsure of what to think, was this going to be an ambush on me about Draco or would this be a settled family event. I guess we would have to find out when we got there unfortunately since no one was talking to me. My stomach is healing however I have a massive scar on my stomach that will not go away unfortunately as the healer was unable to conceal it since we didn't know what spell Pansy used on me. I go to find a dress in our wardrobe, I want to have something flattering but not tight since I was still sore. I settle on a silk emerald dress; it was flowy and comfortable so I could move with ease. I leave my hair out but put a taming charm on it so that it does not go everywhere, however, I struggle to bend over to find some shoes.

"Draco, I need some help," I say even though I would normally never left anyone help me. "Yes darling," Draco says poking his head into the wardrobe. "I need a pair of shoes to wear with this, but I can bend over to find some that might match," I say holding my stomach. He moves over to find a pair of black closed in heels, before moving to find some jewellery. He pulls out an emerald necklace along with matching earrings, walking over to me to place them on me. I move to the mirror to finish putting on makeup before we leave. I take one more look in the mirror, "do you think we are too dressed up for dinner with the Weasley's," I ask with a puzzled look on my face. Draco move behind me wrapping his arms around my waist gently, "of course not dear, you are a Malfoy after all, and you have accustomed to finer things. After all we have been married for a month now," Draco says kissing me on the head. I turn slowly in his arms to face him before he moves his lips down to meet mine. We kiss softly for a few moments. I then pull back as we need to leave, or we will be late.  Draco is already dressed in a silk emerald button up shirt with black dress pants and dress shoes. I grab his hand and we move to the fireplace to floo as I still do not feel well enough to apparate yet.

When we arrive in the living room of the Weasley's it becomes silent, everyone looks at us from where they are. We stand there still for a few minutes before Mrs Weasley comes over to take me into a hug. She squeezes tightly and I wince, as she stands back, she says, "oh dear, is everything okay?" "Yes, just my stomach hurts," I say holding my stomach, and Draco rubs my back. "Oh, we forgot to tell you Hermione was attacked with a spell that we are unable to figure out. Pansy Parkinson attacked her, and she was sent to St Mungo's, she is pretty lucky to be alive, that's what the healer said," Ron said from the couch stuffing his face with food already. "Ronald Weasley, how could you forget that?" Mrs Weasley moves over to him pulling the food out from in front of him, "you can wait till everyone is here and dinner is served". Ron huffs on the couch and we move further into the room, Draco holds onto my hand, and we stand awkwardly in the lounge room. "Hermione, dear, could you come here for a moment? Ron, you make Draco comfortable, move over so he can sit on the couch too," Mrs Weasley yells from the kitchen. I turn to Draco who kisses my forehead and then I move into the kitchen.

"Sweetheart, are you okay? This whole situation is a bit odd to us and we can't seem to figure out why you are married to Draco and so quickly after the war," Mrs Weasley says and Mr Weasley stands next to her. "Well, when we went to Hogwarts the year just before the war, I had a meeting with the Malfoy's about the situation. I met with Kingsley and Mr and Mrs Malfoy, and we talked about an agreement. I was to marry Draco to keep him out of any trouble and he would be kept out of Azkaban if anything happened during the war. I happily agreed as I have had secret feelings for Draco since fourth year. So, I signed a form and then when the war ended, I went straight to Grimmauld Place and packed. I was to head to Malfoy Manor two days after the war to begin organising for the wedding, but I went early as I could not sit in my own feelings and thoughts at Grimmauld Place. I also thought if I stayed there Harry and Ron might come find me, so I sent the letters as I apparated to the Manor. We got married as you saw and then we went on our honeymoon. Whilst we were away, we went to see Headmaster McGonagall to apply for teaching. She happily allowed us to teach in the new school year. Then when we arrived back at the Manor to inform Narcissa of the happy news Pansy was in the Manor. She screamed at myself and Draco before silently throwing a spell at me before disapparating. I was sent to St Mungo's and lost lots of blood and a child. Then I went home when I was healing, and now we are here," I say. Both Mr and Mrs Weasley stare at me in shock. After a few minutes they both walk over to me bringing me into a hug. "We both love you so much and we are happy for you, we were just taken back by everything," Mrs Weasley says hugging me with tears in her eyes. "I really love him though he has made me so happy, and I am excited to spend the rest of my life with him," I say reassuring them as we continue to hug. They both let go and Mr Weasley says, "Draco." Draco then appears in the doorway to the kitchen. Mr Weasley walks over to him and holds out his hand, which Draco takes, and they shake hands, before Mrs Weasley walks over to hug him, "welcome to the family," Mrs Weasley says. I see Draco smile and we move to the table to begin dinner.
