"Levi, I do not understand why we have to do this," Eren complained. He and the Special Operations Squad had been patrolling around District Karanese for almost an hour. "I mean, shouldn't we be looking for the girl with the others?"
"Eren has a point, sir," said Gunther.
It had been some time since the encounter with the strange girl. During that time, the fight in Wall Maria had happened, as well as Eren's tribunal. Eren had just joined Levi's Squad and they had been ordered to patrol the wall before riding to the abandoned Survey Corps fortress.
"These are our orders Eren," answered Levi. "And besides, finding the girl is not our number one priority right now. Right now, our number 1 priority, is you," he finished, pointing directly at Eren.
"This is where we will be leaving for the 57th Expedition," Levi continued. "So I hope you remember why you are not being dissected right now."
Pastor Nick then came out of the blue and ran towards Captain Levi, with a hoard of people behind him. Levi sighed in annoyance.
"Captain Levi, may I ask why you are letting a titan walk around Wall Rose freely like this?" Nick questioned. Levi seemed very annoyed.
"Don't worry!" Petra piped up. "We are watching over him very carefully. He will not be turning into a titan anytime soon."
"How are you so sure about that?" Pastor Nick pressed, though he didn't even give a glance at Petra. "I want to hear it directly from the Captain himself!"
"I have a more important question," someone from the back shouted. "What exactly is the Survey Corps doing right now? I mean, it just seems like they're going on some wild goose chase or something."
Nobody except the Commanders and the Squad Leaders knew about the girl's recent appearance. It was only recently that Levi's Squad was informed of it, and then Eren, who was technically a part of Levi's Squad now.
And of course, he told Armin and Mikasa.
"You better start spilling now Captain," yelled Nick. "Because we want answers, and if you don't start giving them-"
A commotion sounded in the distance. Upon hearing, Levi's Squad's first reaction was to run towards the sound. At once they all activated their ODM gear and rushed towards the smoke, with Pastor Nick yelling furiously in the background.

Eren's reaction time was a little behind since he had just joined but soon caught up.
Levi's Squad quickly arrived at the scene, with an angry merchant storming around everywhere. The merchant soon caught sight of the familiar Survey Corp uniforms and stormed over to them.
