An unlikely pair

It's honestly been great here in Hogwarts, but Christmas break was nearing and I hated it for one reason only.

"Hey Nera?", Sirius pulled me out of my thoughts. I hummed in response letting him know I was listening. "You staying here for Chrstmas break?", I sat up in Peter's bed that I've been occupying since Wormtail went to the kitchens to get some snacks, with Prongs invisibility cloak just for extra measure.

Well, I knew one of them would ask sooner or later. "No. I'm staying somewhere else.", I answered. Remus guessed that I was going back home but I informed him that I wasn't.

"Then where are you staying?", James stretched in his bed next to a tired looking Reggie who we yet again have snuck in. At this point I think Minnie knows what we're doing and so does Slughorn, they're probably just letting us be for whatever reason.

I rolled my eyes and took a deep breath, lucky just as I was about to speak Pete entered carrying a full box of snacks. "Mawshmewwows!", i babied and made grabby hands.

The rest smiled and Peter handed me a bag of light pink fluffy clouds of deliciousness. "Thank you.", I hugged him after he handed everyone their favourite snacks and placed his head on my lap. "Feed me one?", he opened his mouth waiting for me to put a marshmallow in. I reluctantly did as he asked, he got them for me after all.

"Okay so now you two are dating?", Regulus asked looking a little less tired after he ate the sour candy he likes. "Yeah you two are overly close for just friends.", Sirius agreed with his brother. "No we aren't.", Peter replied calmly, "We just have this kind of friendship." That's true, we are friends, nothing more. Besides Peter didn't peek my interest in that way and he made clear that he saw me only as a sister.

"Okay back to topic. Nera where are you staying?", Moony asked again and I wanted to kinda strangle him in that moment because I thought I just got away from answering that question.

After filling in Wormatail on what he missed they all urged me to tell them. "At 12 Grimauld place.", I sighed burying my head into a pillow and screaming into it.

"What? Are you insane?", Both Blacks shouted. Remus laughed at that a little and turned to James "You have to rescue another one from that awful place. You're basically becoming a shelter for the traumatised purebloods that live there.", James and Peter couldn't help but laugh.

"Now back to the point. Why?", Regulus gave me a confused and worried look. "It was my mothers condition. In order to attend Hogwarts I must spend the Christams break at the Black Manor because she said that it's the only place pure enough for me. My father couldn't talk her out of it so yeah that's basically what happened.", everyone pretty much felt sorry for me and Regulus pulled me onto Padfoots bed to be hugged by the two Blacks.

"In all honesty, I'll most likely survive it.", I assured them just in case. Knowing them, if I started freaking out Moonys words will come true and James and the rest will come rescue me. If that happens i can say my farewells to Hogwarts.

We talked a little more and as it was almost past curfew I got up and headed to the Slytherin dorms. Not before hugging each of them and wishing them a good night.

I got into the common room just in time as I saw the clock hit 10pm. Having nothing better to do I went upstairs to my dorm. Before I even grabbed the door knob I heard muffled screaming, like someone was letting their frustration out into a pillow.

"I wouldnt advise going in. She shot a hex at me one time.", a girl I've known to be Alecto Carrow approached me. "Who?", I didn't really need an answer knowing exactly which Black sister would do that. "Bellatrix.", just as I thought.

I twisted the door knob. "You're going in?", she gave me a suspicious look. I rolled my eyes, glaring at her, " Why? Wanna try and stop me from entering my own dorm?", I sneered and she shook her head walking back to her own dorm. "That's what I thought.", I mumbled to myself quietly entering the dorm.

Bellatrix was laying on her bed, head in pillow screaming her heart out into it. Kinda felt sorry for her in that moment. No doubt sensing that she wasnt alone anymore she raised her head. That's when I noticed the puffy eyes. Bellatrix Black is capable of crying? That's new.

"What the fuck do you want?", she spat out. Well she tried to but her voice broke halfway into the sentence. "Oddly enough, to sleep in my own bed.", I retorted. I shouldn't have but she was kinda getting on my nerves with her tone of voice.

She now sat up in her bed, quietly staring at me. "C-could you possibly sleep somewhere else tonight? I kinda wanna be alone.", there was no demand in her words, just a simple plea. She looked like a broken porcelain doll, as much as I love annoying her right now is not the time. I wordlessly took my school bag, a new set of robes, and left without arguing.

I took out the map and looked for the other Black sisters. Narcissa was with Lucius, Andromeda with Ted. I'm pretty sure they know what's going on but by the closeness of the names on the map I'd rather not seek them out.

My boys were still in their dorm. I'll be staying there for the night, again. I had the map out, looking out for Filch or any other professor. Luckily no sign of either.

I crept my way into the Marauder dorm slowly. No one is shagging thankfully.
"Forgot something?", Peter mumbled waking up. "Uhh no, go back to sleep I'll explain in the morning.", I ruffled his hair and he shrugged doing as I told him.

I sat my belongings down next to Padfoots bed, moving away to open a cupboard that was under the large window to grab a few spare pillows and two fluffy blankets.

I placed one blanket on the floor, scattered the pillows on it and set the other blanket to the side. I lay down and wrap myself in the blanket I set to the side my head buried in the pillows. I transformed into my animagus so I dont have a sore back in the morning and curled up into the comfort of my makeshift bed even more. Falling asleep easily.
