Olivia POV

"I hate apartment hunting..." I say as I flop on Claire's couch after a day of looking around some apartments.

"Is it really that bad?" she says as she brings me a cup of coffee.

"Yes... the first one wasn't bad but the neighbours seemed sketchy. The second one was a literal box and had strange marks everywhere, the realtor was really pushy basically saying there's such a high demand that I need to pay the deposit and if I don't like it just leaves. The third was just as bad but this realtor decided because I was alone and female that he could try and manipulate me into paying more than it was worth. The fourth one was kinda nice but it's in the same building as the boys and I really don't want to have to think about seeing Luke every time I go in and out." I sigh leaning back and taping a sip of my coffee.

"Wow... that's a lot... why not go with the fourth? You are still friends with Calum and Ashton. And you can't avoid Luke forever..." Claire says hugging her knees.

Mikey walks through from the kitchen, "sounds to me that you just need to go for it, your not gonna find much better... but if you really want to do more looking I can come with you for some viewings?"

"I want to punch Luke every time I see his face. I can't live in the same building as him..." I grumble opening my laptop to see if I can find some good apartments.

"At least try to get a second viewing or show you're interested just in case?" Mikey says as he leans on the back of the couch.

"Fine... but as soon as there's something better I'm grabbing it," I grumbled, glaring at my computer screen.

"I have to go to work but I'll see you later right?" Claire says getting up and grabbing her bag.

"Yeah, I'll be here staring at my screen," I chuckle as I yawn.

"Try and get some sleep?" she says giving me a quick hug.

"Yeah yeah, maybe..." I mumble.

"Bye babe," she says giving Mikey a kiss on her way out. She has a job at the restaurant around the corner, I'm not sure how she manages to juggle work, college classes as well as volleyball but she does.

Once she leaves, Mikey sits down on the couch with a cup of coffee in hand. this is odd because usually, he would want to play video games or something when he has free time not just hang out with me, "don't hate me..."

I chuckle looking up at him, "Why would I hate you..."

He looks back at me with a straight face, "Because I want you to make an effort to be friendly with Luke... I'm telling him the same thing..."

I look at him completely confused, "Friendly? But he's being a dickhead! I told you what happened on the train right? At when his mum ambushed me!" I say putting a hand through my hair.

"Just listen..." he says throwing a pillow at me to shut me up, "I don't want things to go back to how they were when we were in high school, with the code reds and having to tip toe around the two of you. Only inviting one of you to things because I'm scared you're going to fight if I invite both..."

I roll my eyes and hug the pillow he threw at me feeling bad for everything, "But I don't mind not going to stuff..."

"I think you will want to be included in the event I have in mind..." he chuckles a slight smile appearing on his face as he fiddles with his phone in his hand.

I tilt my head at him slightly confused about what he's saying, "huh?"

"I'm planning to propose to Claire this summer..." his smile turns into a huge grin.

"Wait what! That's fantastic Mikey!" I grin shoving my laptop away from me so I can hug him.

He chuckles hugging me back, "yeah so my plan is, to hire a lodge on the beach or something for the 8 of us as a holiday and an excuse to get away from the city, but that only works if there's no drama with you and Luke. Even if it's just for the time of the trip," till this point I was nodding happily and then realised I would have to socialise with Luke as if it's normal.

My smile drops, "oh..." I say pulling away from the hug.

"I just don't want you two fighting while we are there. It's the sort of thing you both need to come to. Lukes my best friend and your Claires and your family. It would also be nice if you can be friendly for when we have the wedding eventually too because you'd both be in the wedding party and stuff..." he says fiddling with his fingers.

I think for a second, I can't say no to at least trying as long as Luke tries too. Right? "Fine... but only if Luke tries, I'll be nice."

"He will. If he doesn't I'm going to tell him he's not coming on the trip. Same for you." he says with a stern face.

"When are you going to talk to him about it?" I say fiddling with my sleeves.

"Tonight, I'm going over when I finish here. I just wanted to talk to you when Claire wasn't here," he says a slight smile appearing on his face when he says Claire's name.

"Ohh can I see the ring? Have you picked it yet?" I say getting excited again.

He chuckles at my excitement, "I'm getting it custom designed so it's not here yet but it's a simple gold band with a curve design and a round cut diamond in the centre, I think that's the terms anyway." he chuckles pulling out his phone to show me a picture.

"She's going to love it!" I smile hugging him again, "can I help you find the lodge or anything? I know you have finals and stuff."

"Yes, actually that would be great! I have a few in mind but I'll send you these links if you can get it booked for the week after your birthday or something? I know we finish before your birthday. Can you also try and get their girls to all go get their nails done with you or something? I know Claire will want them nice in the pictures, just use the trip as an excuse?" he smiles. We go over a few other things and I show him some pictures of the flats I might see tomorrow.

"I still think you should go for the one in the building with the boys, the landlord is great, the building has good maintenance and you can have people you know nearby?"

"I'll see how the apartments go tomorrow, if they are bad then I'll give that agent a call and see if I can get it..." I say grabbing my laptop again.

"Good, I have to go I said I would meet Luke at 6," he smiles getting up from the couch.

"Say hi to the others for me," I smile slightly trying to ignore the feeling in my stomach when I hear Luke's name.
