What was Melody doing here??
I tried banging on the glass of the window but giving it a second thought, I let it go.Melody went before me and I woke up later. And we're separated...
Tears rolled down my eyes on thinking about how much that Melody had been through. Sure enough, power and wealth doesn't help when it comes about emotions and relationships.
I walked a few miles ahead alone and stumbled as my feet started hurting. Spotting a park, I sat down on a bench in the coldness of the night. There was barely any layers of clothing on me which I tried hard to cover up myself. But I was still shivering harder.
Every passing moment, I would look up at the sky to find a way that lead me home. And would bring me back to my old friend, Melody. But still she suffered more than I did...
***********
Four hours had already passed and I woke up after falling asleep for a while.
Looking around in the desolate park, I noticed that it was almost midnight. I had ran out of energy. Time passed it was almost dawn. I touched my lips.
Cold.
My hands were shaking uncontrollably. I lost all hope of ever living a life again."Hi there little girl" a voice said behind me.
I turned around to see who it was. A man who was in his thirty's and who smelled a bit like alcohol extended his arm and giving a kind smile. I felt nothing wrong in trusting him so I took his arm and started walking in his lead. He led me to his small white car and pulled out a brown jacket and covered me up. It felt warm...He invited me inside his car. Once I was in, he pulled on to the seat belt and giving me a hand, he made me sit comfortably on his seat. A smile escaped through the corner of my mouth.
This man was kind.
A few minutes passed in utter silence when I finally broke it.
"Excuse me sir, But may I know what your name is?" I said, trying to sound as polite as possible."Slow down little fellow, You haven't really got to do that. I won't have time to answer that!" He said in his sarcastic tone.
I couldn't say another word.
Silence."Don't worry about anything girl, my name is Jefferson. Just call me your dad. I suppose you haven't got anyone with you at your home right?" The man spoke up.
"Actually I don't have a home." I answered, "And besides, I don't have any interest in calling a stranger my dad cause my father is still alive and I need to find a way back to him. So I better go with calling you Uncle Jeff. How's that?" I told him.
"You are just like me. Well I got no problem with that. But first you need a place to live. I got your back for that" The man answered nonchalantly.
A few minutes passed and I spotted this old resident I came to. It seemed Jeff's home. He invited me in and I slowly walked in through the door.
The fellow wasn't a rich person and worked for a small company. His house smelled strongly like alcohol which clearly seemed that he was disturbed badly by his life. All around his room were countless alcohol bottles thrown on the rugs, sofas and chairs.
A drunkard.
" I think you have had a bad life, isn't it?" I asked Jeff.
"Sure, little fellow, life has way too much challenges. It all depends upon how the person faces it." He answered.
"Uncle Jeff, do you live alone?"
" Not quite, I got company; my wife. But she not at home now."
Just then I heard someone click the door open. I cautioned myself if anything didn't seemed right. But I may have let it out so well that Jeff said,
