After an hour and ten -minute flight from Seoul to Jeju International Airport, Jake got off the plane, still a little sleepy because he woke up early so he could return to the island immediately.
In fact, it seems that his parents don't want him to go back there, not only because they miss him but also because they are worried about him, now that Jeonji's men are in Jeju.
Although he was not what they were really looking for, they just wanted to be sure.
When he first stepped into their house in Seoul, they quickly hugged him tightly and he couldn't help but smile at their warm welcome upon his return. But that's not all they did, they asked where he used the women's clothes and things.
And boy, only that time he was able to lie to them.
Jake was yawning as he walks with his travel bag. He's also at fault why he's feeling drowsy, he was thinking too much about what happened yesterday. Whenever he tried to close his eyes, the expression of her face came back to his mind when he rejected her.
So he thought of taking her heart again by giving her something at the same time apologizing. While he was at the airport he decided to go through a duty- free shop first.
He entered the small store, his eyes looking around at what the girl in their mansion might like. On the second shelf, his eyes landed where chocolates of different brands are laying.
No doubt, he took five packets of chocolate and he even added some pastel colored macarons.
He brought it to the counter and he requested that it to be put in a nice paper bag, which of course added to the amount he had paid for. But he did not even feel any kind of remorse.
After he paid for it, he left the store carrying his gift for her. His other bodyguards took him to the port and when he boarded their ferry boat they left, seeing that there was no awaiting danger to their employer's son.
The air coming from their voyage across the ocean was one of the feelings he’d always wanted to experience. His hair is carried by the wind in different directions but his good looks have never diminished.
He ran his hand through his hair when he saw a group of birds flying freely in the sky, he smiled. His eyes turned to the paper bag he was holding.
I hope that with that little gift from him, Minji will forgive and she will return to her old self.
Even though he hadn't seen her since she locked herself in the guest room. He was sure she was mad at him, maybe that's why there's possiblity that she will avoid him. He doesn't seem to be able to handle that.
After some minutes of their sailing, they also reached their small island. He was immediately met by their bodyguard Kei, who quickly took his travel bag to carry it inside. Kei also planned to take the paper bag from him.
"Mr. Kei, I'll take this." Jake looked at the paper bag. "Please put my travel bag on the couch in the living room thank you." He said then first let the guard inside. And Just outside, he could see Minji and Layla on the transparent glass wall.
That put a wide smile to his lips. Seeing her playing with his dog, they seem to have been close during his absence. He wonders what she fed Layla and she's not like that before as his dog was always glaring at her.
He decided to go inside and this was the first thing he said "Minji, I'm back."
She looked at him, he hoped she somehow would be happy with his presence but he was wrong. Without another glance, she left him with Layla in the living room.
His wide smile fell on his face. He was hurt by her avoidance, as he expected she will start avoiding him. It seems that it will be difficult for him now to apologize if she herself is walking away.
But what he didn’t know, she also has a hard time approaching and talking to him as if nothing had happened. She was feeling embarrassed and annoyance that time.
Layla seemed to feel that his owner was sad, she approached him. Jake's sad eyes became happy again to see Layla soothing him by rubbing her head in his legs.
He crouched down then pat her head "Did you miss me?" He chuckled as he continued to caress his dog.
In response, Layla barked "I miss you too Layla, has the girl you used to glared at has been kind to you?" He laughed when he heard her bark again as if agreeing.
Later, he stood up and Layla lay down comfortably on her bolster bed. He was still holding the paper bag as he went straight to the kitchen. It was as if the destiny was favoring him when he saw the girl who was turning her back while eating something.
She's was wearing his hoodie "Who told you to wear my hoodie?" He asked sarcastically as he sat down next to her chair.
"Me." She replied while still not looking at him, she was still busy eating carbonara "Why are you here?"
He faced her as he was smiling "Most likely, this is my house. What are you doing in our kitchen? Looks like you're eating again." He teased her so he could get some reaction from her.
"It's none of your business." She rolled her eyes then put the hood of the jacket over her head but Jake lowered it again. She looked at him already scowling.
"Why are you like that? Where is the Minji who is always happy when she sees me?" He pouted so she got even more annoyed with him, she hastened to consume the carbonara quickly.
"You're really mad at me, do you?" He placed the paper bag in front of her and then took a deep breath "That's for you, I bought that at the airport in Jeju." The girl immediately took it and looked at the contents.
Jake couldn't help but laugh quietly at her being a greedy eater.
She took out the chocolates and macarons that caused her eyes to sparkle, in fact she seemed to want to consume all of that right now but of course when Jake is not in front of her.
She hugged the sweets he had brought for her as if someone will take it from her, she glared at Jake "Thank you!" She said that angrily.
He shook his head as he restrained himself from laughing at her again, he nodded at her and was happy that she was no longer avoiding him.
After Minji put the sweets that came from him in the fridge. She did everything to avoid him again, every time she saw him the memory of her failed confession keep coming back.
"Why is he so sweet ?! My feelings for that Aussie are getting worse." She slapped her hands on her cheeks "Arghh, annoying!" She grabbed her hair and punched the bed.
It seems that we already know her habit when annoyed or should I say when she feels captivated by him again and again?
"You shouldn't like him anymore, Minji! Maybe you will cry again like last night, that's damaging your reputation." She dramatically uttered as her head was sank into the pillow "Dammit, Jake what did you do to me?" She said in a muffled voice.
