I stood outside of Adaman's hut in the Crimson Mirelands, the sun slowly setting behind me. I looked up at his modest hut, not much bigger than the others on the hillside. I'm not sure why I was hesitating outside. All I had to do was knock and I could go in but something was stopping me.
Was I ready for this? For all of the things that I knew I was getting into being with him? I obviously knew of his unique situation with being the leader of the Diamond clan. He wanted marriage and babies and all the things that came with that life. No, he needed them. Was I ready for all of that? I had spent every minute since he told me trying to decide if this is what I really wanted. I knew I wanted him but was I ready for that level of commitment?
I didn't have any more time to think because the door swung open and a tall frame appeared and leaned against the frame. My eyes slowly drank him in, from the black boots on his feet, to his neatly pressed pants that grazed the tops of them. His dark blue tunic came down past his waist trimmed with golden fabric. His navy overcoat with the Diamond Clan crest on the back was open at the waist and showcased his strong figure. He wasn't overly muscled but definitely defined. His strong arms were crossed over his broad chest and he was smiling down at me.
"Like what you see?" He smirked at me. Of course I did, he was gorgeous. He stood up straight and caught my chin with his fingers, tilting my face up to his. He leaned down and firmly kissed my lips. Butterflies started going wild in my stomach, goosebumps formed on my arms.
"Mm. I've missed you," He murmured against my lips before pulling away. He gave me a huge smile and laced his fingers in mine.
"Let's go inside before we get an audience." There was a light in his eyes that gave me tingles down my spine. All my previous thoughts and worries currently vacated my mind.
We stepped inside and I removed my shoes. It was bigger than it looked inside. There was a large open room with a small fire in the middle. A pot was hanging over it, supported by a metal frame built around the fire which was attached to the roof. The walls were the same navy color as his tunic and the floor was light colored wood. There were a few shelves attached to the wall with various cooking implements, a few plates, bowls, and cups. There wasn't much furniture except for a small table with two chairs, a small dresser and a box at the door. There was firewood in a small pile next to the dresser. The hut had a loft and that's where, I assumed, his bed was.
His trusted Leafeon was playing quietly in the corner with his Vaporeon and I walked over to pet them. They had grown fond of me during the past months, and Adaman and I often trained together. I always won, but he never let that get him down. He's gotten so much better lately and he and Leafeon are closer than ever because of it.
His Umbreon walked over to me and sniffed my hand and my pouch where I keep my pokeballs. I knew exactly what or who he was looking for and I let my shiny Umbreon out of her ball. They squealed when they saw each other and they nuzzled and went to his bed to cuddle up together.
The fire was going and steam was coming out of the pot. It made the whole hut smell amazing. It had been awhile since someone cooked for me. I was a pretty good cook for myself but it was nice not to have to do it all alone for once.
"It smells amazing in here! What are we having?" I turned to look at him. A blush spread across his cheeks and he looked over at the pot.
"Vivichoke stew. Its uh, kind of the only thing I know how to make well." I gave his hand a squeeze and he met my gaze.
"It's your favorite so I'm glad you thought to make it for me." I gave him a soft, reassuring smile. He looked back at me with surprise, his mouth slightly agape.
