As I open my eyes, I'm briefly confused at my surroundings. This isn't my bedroom and this isn't my bed. I blink the sleep from my eyes and suddenly I feel something shift behind me. A strong arm wraps around my middle, pulling me close. It's then that the entirety of last night comes rushing back to me.

Adaman.

I can't help the blush that creeps across my face, when I think back to everything that happened the night before. He had actually admitted his feelings for me. I thought that his admission might worry me but knowing he felt that strongly for me just made everything easier. And the way he touched me...

I turned around and was met with his sleeping form. His face was so peaceful and serene, his features soft. I found myself thinking about waking up to him every morning. I expected the thoughts to make my heart race with nerves, or to feel sick with worry but, surprisingly, I didn't. I felt...calm.

I tried to think of everything that came with Adaman: the commitment, the marriage, the responsibilities, the pressure, the...baby. I forced myself to think about everything that I may have had doubts about or brought out any negative emotions so I could deal with them here and now. He had bared his heart to me last night, so he deserved for me to know with 100% certainty that I was in this. I didn't want any lingering doubts about this decision.

Nothing.

No uneasiness, no clenched stomach, no feeling the need to run. What I did want was to reach out and tuck the stray strand of hair out of his face. I wanted to run my fingers over the small freckles on his nose that I hadn't noticed before. I wanted to empower him, show him that he had a safe place to turn to with me. I wanted him to never worry about me, about us.

Us.

That was a new concept as well. I hadn't really had to think about anyone other than myself before so finding myself actually considering his opinions and his needs too was a little strange as well. But I think overall, what I wanted most, was for him to be happy. I wanted to make him happy.

I was going to do this. I wanted it. I wanted him, and everything that came with that.

The realization made my heart warm and beat like crazy. My palms started to sweat and I couldn't keep them to myself anymore. I wiped them off on the sheets and reached up to gently touch his face. He smiled when he felt my hand and turned his face in to meet my touch. He kissed my palm before opening his eyes.

They were clear and bright and even though he had just woken up, I felt like he saw me. All of me, even the pieces me of that I had kept secret. He gave me a heart stopping grin when our eyes connected, placing his hand over mine.

"Good morning, beautiful." His voice was gravelly and deep from sleep and it sent heat right to my core. He reached out again and pulled me into his bare chest. I trailed my fingers over his muscled chest and abs, unconsciously bringing goosebumps to his skin.

"Good morning" I turn into him to kiss his chest and it rumbles when he gives a slight grunt. His hand starts stroking my arm.

"Sleep well?"

"I did actually. Better than I have, probably since I got here." I smile at him because it's the truth.

My nights had been plagued with worry since I got here, about the sky rift, the noble pokemon that needed to be quelled, the village throwing me out, Volo. It had all been so much, even after everything had settled down, that it made it hard to sleep at night.

"Me too.." He whispered while hugging me closer.

I threaded my hands in his hair and relished in the feeling of it between my fingers.
