Chapter 26.

Michelle's POV
I woke up due to my alarm. I felt arms around me and when I looked I saw Luke had his arms around me. I smirked and pushed him off the bed. He groaned in pain and I laughed.
"What was that for?" He asked.
"Just felt like it." I said. He got up and smirked. Uh oh.
"And I feel like doing this." I immediately got up and ran. Luke chased me and I ran into a body. I look up and saw Derek. I went behind him and saw Luke.
"Derek? Can you do me a favor?" Luke asked. Really?
"Yea sure." he said. Luke went to his ear and told him something. When he was done telling Derek. Derek nodded and Luke smirked. I ran and I felt both of the boys chasing me. I went to a room and locked the door.
"Come on we have school!" I said. I fell and hurt my butt. I looked around and saw it was Jesus' room. I shook him and he groaned.
"What?" He asked.
"Help me. Luke and Derek are chasing me and I need to get ready for school." I said. Jesus groaned and nodded and opened the door.
"Luke, Derek leave Michelle alone or you'll deal with me. She needs to get ready and you do not want to see how she is when she is not ready. It's not pretty." Jesus said. They nodded and I left to my room. Luke followed me and he closed the door. Really?
"I can get you here." he said. Luke tackled me and started tickling me.
"S-stop! I-I have to g-get r-ready." I said.
"Not until you say 'Luke Hemmings is the best boyfriend and the hottest.'" he said.
"No!" I said.
"Fine I won't stop tickling you." he said.
"Fine fine! Luke Hemmings is the best boyfriend and the hottest." I said. Luke stopped tickling me and I was catching my breathe.
"I hate you." I said.
"You love me." he said. Luke was about to kiss me but I stopped him.
"Morning breath." I said. Luke chuckled and I gave him an extra toothbrush and we brushed our teeth together. When we were done Luke kissed me. I smiled and pulled away.
"Go get ready. I need to get ready." I said. Luke nodded and gave me a kiss on the cheek and left. I went to take a shower and when I was done I put on my blue jeans and red flannel shirt. I put on my red converse and put my hair in a side braid. When I was done getting ready I went to the kitchen to get a water bottle and I saw Derek but he wasn't ready.
"Why aren't you ready?" I asked. I am really worried about Derek. I am happy but worried. Happy because Nathaly understood about the whole "Ashton kissing me on the lips" which he didn't. I am worried because something happened to Derek.
"I'm not going to school. I'm not in the mood. I just need to rest." he said.
"Okay. When I get back I want you here and I want you to explain to me." I said. Derek nodded and I got a water bottle and gave him a kiss on the cheek and left to Nathalys house. I woke her up and she got ready. When she was done getting ready I heard a horn. I looked out the window and saw Luke waiting for me. As well as Calum and Ashton. I told Nathaly they were here and she came down and we left. I got in the passenger seat and said hi to everyone and I gave Luke a kiss on the cheek. Luke started the engine and grabbed my hand intertwining our fingers. I smiled and he drove off to school. I am really worried though about Derek. Is he okay? Is he going to be home when I come back from school? Is it about his parents? Did he do something wrong and his parents want him out? I guess I was thinking to much because someone was shaking me. I shook my head and saw Luke was shaking me. I faced him and he had a worried face.
"Are you okay babe?" He asked. I nodded and put a fake smile. Luke smiled and I got out of the car. I saw Rosemary and Randy as well as Caroline. Damn Rosemary gets here quicker than me.
"Hey Rose. Hey Rand. Hey Caro." I said. They all waved at me and smiled. Caroline looked at me confused.
"Where is Derek?" Caroline asked.
"Um... He stayed home. He... isn't feeling well." I lied. Although the staying home was true just not the "feeling well" part. They all bought it and the bell rang. I had Music and the project of the singing and stuff is due in 3 days. Great. I got to class and sat down. Ashton came and sat next to me.
"Hey Ash." I said.
"Hey Mich." he said. We started talking and laughing about the stupidest things and then Mrs. Annie came.
"Okay class, remember that your project is due in 3 days. I will be calling you guys one by one and you will tell me what you are doing. For now talk or practice. Do whatever as long as it's not loud." Mrs. Annie said. We all nodded and Ashton faced me.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"I'm... singing. You?" I said.
"Really? I never heard you sing. I bet your great. I'm playing that box right there and sing. Well you know do a beat on the box. You understand right?" He said pointing to the little box. I nodded.
"Michelle?" She said. I stood up and walked up to her.
"Yes?" I said.
"What will you be doing?" She asked.
"Singing 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' by Green Day." I said. She nodded and I went back to my seat. Mrs. Annie called Ashton and he told her what he was doing. Ashton came back to his seat and we started talking again. The bell rang and we got our things and went to the next class.
"Okay class remember 3 days." mrs. Annie said. We all nodded and left the classroom.
"See you at lunch." Ashton said. I hugged him and he pulled away leaving to his English class with Mr. Green. Weird name.

I went to Art class and saw people still going to their seats but I didn't see Luke. Weird. Someone tapped on my shoulder and gave me a note.
"Someone told me to give this to you." the girl said. I nodded and took the paper thanking her. I opened the paper and went to my seat. I read the paper and it said:

Go to the school yard.

The teacher came in and she started with the lesson. I raised my hand and she pointed at me.
"Yes Michelle?" She asked.
"Can I go to the nurse? I'm not feeling well." I lied. She nodded and told me to go. I ran to the school yard and I saw another note hanging from the tree. I grabbed it and opened it. Not to be rude but this is stupid. And weird.

I went to the parking lot and saw Luke leaning against his car with flowers. I went up to him and smiled. He smiled back and kissed me. When I pulled away I raised an eyebrow.
"What's this for?" I asked.
"Your so special to me and I want to show you how special you are. Come with me. I have something to show you." he said.
"What about classes?" I asked.
"We'll skip the rest off the day." he said. I nodded and go into the car and Luke started the car and drove off to the place he was taking me. I took my phone out and saw I had 3 new messages 2 from Derek and 1 from Ashton. I opened Ashton's message and saw he asked me where was I since I'm not in lunch. I told him I was with Luke and won't be in school for the rest off the day. I opened Derek messages and read them.

Derek😋: Hey so um... I'm leaving the house and I'm renting a little apartment. Don't worry I clean up my mess. I don't want to be near my parents so if they ask you if you know anything say no. I hate my parents.

Derek😋: sorry to bother you again but I just wanted to say goodbye. I know this isn't a great goodbye but I will you all especially Caroline. Tell her the date is cancelled. Tell everyone I said goodbye. I'm sorry but I don't want anybody looking for me. Goodbye.

No Derek can't do this. Especially when he has a date with Caroline. Luke looked at me and had a worried face.
"Are you okay?" He asked. I shook my head and he took my hand in his.
"We're here." he said. I looked up and saw we were at his house.
"Let me call Derek. I'll be out." I said. Luke nodded and told me to take my time. I called Derek and he didn't answer. I called again and he answered after the 3 ring.
"Michelle? Please I'm sorry but leave me alone. I'm packing right now. I need to leave before my parents are back." Derek said.
"Derek please. Don't leave us. You have me. You have Caroline. Ashton, Nathaly, Luke, Calum. You have more people. Don't just leave them. Look stay in the guest room. You can have it. Just don't leave us. Remember you still have to explain to me. Don't leave." I said. I heard Derek sigh.
"Fine. I'll stay." he said. I smiled and said,
"Okay well I got to go. Bye." I said. I hung up and got out off the car and saw Luke waiting for me. Luke looked up and saw me.
"Ready?" He asked. I nodded and smiled. Luke took my hand and we went inside his house. When we got inside Luke took me out in the yard. Wow. He had a set off swings and a tree house. I wish I had this.
"Wow." I said.
"My father- well I don't even consider him as a father after what happened." Luke said.
"What did he do?" I asked.
"He... He used to abuse me and my mom as well as my brothers."
