Damian and I sped away from the small town.

"I don't trust him," Damian spoke out of nowhere.

I creased my forehead. "What? Why?" I laughed.

Calum hadn't done anything, I didn't know him, I had spoken to him twice and I was positive Damian hadn't had the time to get to know him.

"He doesn't give me a good vibe," he said, his face still swept with a look of seriousness.

I laughed again. "Aw Dam, don't be so silly,"

"No, really Cariad," he pushed on the subject making me groan.

"Who cares, Damian? It's not like we are friends with him,"

"Whatever, Carrie," he huffed, tightening his grip on the steering wheel.

-

The trip into the city was short and sweet. We didn't bring enough money to stay any longer.

Damian pulled up at my drive way. "Well- I uh, I'll see you soon,"

"Bye," I smiled, slamming his car door and jogging up the steps to my house.

When I entered I realised that no one was home. My brother was still at school, my father was at work... but my mother. My mother is normally home.

I took out my mobile and dialled her number.

She picked up on the second ring. "Hi, mum,"

"Hey, darling, what's up?" She replied.

"Um where are you? I'm home and no ones here," I questioned, holding my phone between my shoulder and cheek while I removed my shoes.

"Oh I'm just out shopping, do you want anything,"

"Nah, thank you," I sighed.

"Okay sweetie I'll be home in a little while,"

"Bye," I said and hung up.

I walked slowly up the stairs and into my room.

I collapsed on the bed and switched the tv on.

It was nice to have the entire house to myself, I couldn't wait till I had enough money to live alone.

Just as I was getting into the television programme my phone vibrated on the bedside table next to me.

unknown number: heyy

I creased my forehead as I stared at my phone.

me: who is this?

I sat patiently and waited for a response. Within seconds my phone buzzed again.

unknown number: calum:))

Oh yeah. I gave him my number. I smiled slightly.

me: oh right, yeah, hi!

calum: how are you?

me: dandy, you?

calum: im okay, just training down the field.

me: sounds like fun

calum: it is. perfect place to pick up the ladies ;-)

me: i wouldn't know

calum: you should come down.

I felt my face heat up.

me: im good thanks
