Yeonjun's POV:
December 4
I reached up and grabbed the straps of my bag, taking a deep breath; determined. I saw Changbin at his locker down the hall, and I needed to talk to him. I'm always awkward with things like this, but I can't just let him walk around without the favor being given back in return. He really did quite literally save me from his teammate, and I've been anxious about it ever since.
I always feel weird when people do things for me, and they get nothing in return. I feel like I need to repay them badly all the time, and I kind of feel like I owe Changbin a lot for helping me out. So, I pursed my lips together and made my way down the hall. I squeezed the straps of my backpack, calling out a small, "H-Hey." Once I got close enough.
He turned his head, giving me a little smile as he replied, "Oh, hey!..." He raised an eyebrow, pointing at me as he asked, "Yeonjun, right?"
I nodded, giving him a small smile as well, "Y-Yeah, that's me! I'm Yeonjunie!..." I replied, sounding all too eager to be talking to him. I mentally slapped myself in the face. I'm always awkward around new people, "I wanted to say thank you for saving me in the locker room."
He chuckled a little, "I didn't really save you. And you thanked me like four times right after..." He said, switching out some notebooks from his backpack and his locker, "Also, didn't this happened like a month ago?"
I chuckled awkwardly, "W-Well, yeah... But if you ever need anything to return the favor, let me know!"
He turned to me again, "Oh, bro don't worry about it..." He smiled, reaching his hand out to tap my shoulder for a second before pulling it away, "No need to repay me."
I widened my eyes a little, "Are you sure? I've actually been stressing to my boyfriend about this, but he's jealous of you so he's no help right now." I immediately shut my mouth. Ugh... Sometimes I'm too awkward and I talk so fast that I don't know what I'm saying until I actually say it.
I was nervous, but Changbin just laughed a little, "I think this is the most we've ever spoken to each other and he's jealous of me?..." He replied, making me feel a little more relaxed, "Your boyfriend has nothing to worry about. I like someone else."
I nodded, reaching into my pocket since I thought now was the right time. I took out the little slip of paper I had written on this morning and handed it to him, "I-If you think of anything, this is my number."
He hesitated to take it from me, smiling as he replied, "Thanks, man. I really appreciate it." And then he shoved the paper into his pocket.
I gave a little guilty smile, "S-Sorry if Soob bothers you; he's kinda the jealous type. I mean, he has a good reason for it and he's really trying to get better. Anyways, sometimes I just talk too fast and I'm kinda awkward around new people. I'm really bad at making friends too. God only knows how I have three best friends and a boyfriend. Soobin's really great, though. I love him a lot! He knits his own sweaters too! He always looks super cute in them—"
"Ok, breathe, Yeonjun-ssi..." Changbin cut me off, chuckling a little bit at the whole situation. I paused, taking a deep breath as he added, "I don't wanna have to carry you to the nurse..." I giggled a bit at what he said, taking another deep breath as he spoke again, "And your boyfriend seems lovely."
I smiled, "He really is—"
I was cut off when someone was quick to link their arm with mine from behind me. I turned my head, seeing Soobin clutching onto my arm and staring at Changbin. He had his lips pressed together, still looking cute as ever while wearing one of the sweaters he knitted himself. He finally turned his head to me after an awkward moment, his whole demeanor changing as he gave me a little dimple smile, "Hi, Yeonnie."
