Felix's POV:
Continuing on December 23
I was nervous when a nurse walked into the waiting room. I felt my heart beating fast, hoping that they would tell me that Changbin's ok again. I've gotten my hopes up about five times already, but all of them have just walked passed us and headed outside. I guess I'm the only one who's really been paying attention anyways. Soobin fell asleep on Yeonjun's shoulder a while ago, and I don't blame him since it's almost eleven at night. Yeonjun has still been chatting with Channie, but I can tell from how heavily he blinks that he'll fall asleep any second. Chan stays up all night anyways, so I'm not surprised that he's still awake. Innie fell asleep a while ago too, resting his head in his hand while his elbow was propped up on the armrest.
I got a little more hope in me when the nurse went straight to the receptionist, sitting up in my seat from the anxiousness. I couldn't hear what they were saying since they were on the other side of the room, but after a few seconds of conversation, the receptionist pointed right at me. The nurse and I met eyes, and she gave me a little smile before making her way over. I was so nervous that I quickly stood up, hearing her ask, "Are you all here for Seo Changbin?"
I quickly nodded, seeing Chan and Yeonjun look at her in my peripheral vision, "H-He's my boyfriend."
"He just got out of surgery about thirty minutes ago and I'm his recovery nurse. He's probably gonna wake up soon." She replied, and my first instinct was to smile.
"C-Can we go see him? Is he doing alright?" I was quick to ask, the only two things on my mind.
"He's well and stable right now. He needs to stay here for a few days so that we can monitor his condition in case he develops an infection..." I nodded in response, and she continued, "I can talk more about this, but I just wanted to say that only one person can come into the recovery room with me as he's waking up. People get really overwhelmed sometimes when they wake up and they're surrounded by a lot of people."
I pursed my lips and quickly turned to Channie behind me. Then I looked at Yeonjun, and they both said the same thing, "You go." They said it at the exact same time too, making their eyes widen as they turned to each other.
They chuckled lightly and so did I, feeling at least a little better now that I can go see Changbin, "I-I'll come with you."
She gave me a smile and gestured for me to follow her. I glanced back at Chan and Yeonjun one last time before we walked away from the waiting room. I was anxious just to see him again for some reason, trying to slow down my steps and my racing heart at the same time. She took me to the same room he was in before, opening the door for me so I could walk inside first. But as soon as I could see him, I didn't know whether to be happy or upset.
He looked so tired; his eyes closed with light circles underneath. His hair was all over the place as well, wanting to gently fix it for him. His hands were at his sides, an IV stuck into his left hand. I could hear the heart monitor beeping at a steady pace, which made me a bit relieved. It took me a moment before I finally stepped inside, taking a deep breath so I wouldn't cry at the sight of him. Obviously, I never want to see him like this, but at least I know that's he's doing alright.
The nurse closed the door behind me, walking to the left side of his bed where all the machines were. I was still awkwardly standing in the middle of the room as she sat down in her rolling stool, not quite knowing what I was allowed to do. She noticed, chuckling when she looked up at me, "You can grab one of the chairs and sit on the other side if you'd like." She said, pointing to the two chairs against the wall.
"R-Right..." I mumbled, walking over to grab one of the chairs and bring it closer. I sat down right next to him on the bed, reaching out and holding his hand out of this urge I had in my heart.
