The next day, I made my way to the cave, my friends told me to stay but I didn't listen, this was my destiny and my only chance to revenge my father.
I saddled my horse and started my journey to kill the dragon in the early morning, it's cave was almost on the top of the mountain, after a few hours I arrived, I hid my horse a bit away that he couldn't hurt or even kill it.
I slowly approached the cave, holding my sword tight, I was nervous but there was no way back.
It was sleeping, it wasn't a big as I remembered, covered in red and black scales, it looked majestic, but it was still a terrible monster.
"I am Arthur! Knight of the mighty king! And I order you to leave the village alone or I'll kill you!", I yelled at it.
It opened its eyes, and looked at me, big yellow eyes, cold as ice. It stood up and stretched, coming closer.
"Stop or I'll kill you!", and I thought it rolled its eyes.
"Okay, you want it that way, revenge for my father!", I started running, and with one tiny ball of fire it melted my sword. I stopped and slowly walked backwards, it looked me in the eyes and growled.
I pulled out a dagger pointing at it, it jumped up and covered itself in smoke, in front of me landed a young man, hands and feet of the creature, pointy ears and a long tail.
"Go on, kill me!", he hissed, I just looked at him, he was beautiful, he still had those lizard eyes, staring into my soul through brown wavy strands of hair.
"You....you're not a....dragon?!"
"Never was, never will be.", he turned around.
"But I tought...."
"What do you want? If you won't kill me, leave, the list is long, bye."
"I can't kill you."
"Even better, if youˋre done now, leave.", he coldly said.
"Why do you attack the village?"
"To feed the eggs."
"Wait you have kids?"
"You're really as stupid as you look, aren't you."
"What?"
"Do I look like I lay eggs? I am alone here, and I am a man if you didn't notice. And how on earth do you expect me to feed eggs, you genius."
"I...."
"Are you done now or do you want to annoy me more?"
"You're a murderer."
"What? Did you just call me murderer?!"
"You killed my Father."
"No I didn't."
"But the many men who came to fight you."
"Nope."
"But they never came back."
"Yeah, they died, but I didn't kill them, most died of an heart attack or tiredness.", he came back.
"Did you eat them?"
"Ew no, I buried them, near the river on a field. I couldn't let all those poor souls rot here, they were normal people maybe even with a family, every time one died I brought them down to that free field, digged a hole and buried them. I marked every grave with a small rock, without anything just as a reminder.", he sadly smiled.
"Reminder? What for? No one knows you did this."
"For myself, to remind myself how many poor men lost their lives because they got frightened so much their hearts stopped beating.", his eyes got wet.
"Oh, so you're not a heartless killer?"
"Far from it. Marvel.", he smiled and sat down on a rock.
