Chapter 8

I walked around the cave it was getting dark and cold, I didn't have a fire or something to make one, I sat down and waited for him, I was freezing by now, I waited for hours, until he finally came back.

"I need to talk to you....", I whispered.

"You're still here?!", he rushed towards me, he didn't look happy.

"I told you to leave!"

"I know but....", he just hugged me, surprised I hugged him back.

"Why are you still here? You stupid idiot. You're freezing, I knew this would happen, that's why I said you should leave, I wouldn't come back before evening.", he lit up a fire.

"What?"

"Come here.", he hugged me again, trying to warm me.

"You're not mad?"

"I am, and I am sad you suggested something like that, but I won't let you freeze, I won't let another one die because of me.", he pressed my head against his chest.

"I'm sorry, I was an asshole, I should've known better."

"Yes."

"Does this help?", I said and pressed my lips on his.

"A ilttle bit yeah.", he smiled.

"I think it's enough now."

"No, you're still cold.", he pulled me closer.

"Can we at least go to bed?"

"Yeah.", he picked me up and placed me on the bed.

"Can you help me trying to transform tomorrow?", he asked with a dreamy look.

"Yeah.", I looked into his eyes.

I kissed him again and placed my hand on his waist, I felt how his scales raised a bit and giggled, I wanted to see what would happen if I go further so I traced my fingers up and down his spine, it made him shiver and a wave went trough his scales down to his tail with a rattling sound.

"That's cute.", I giggled.

"I'm not cute.", he pouted.

"What happens if I do this?", I kissed his neck and held his hips.

With another rattle like sound fins appeared on his back, making him blush.

"That was on purpose. Don't think it was you....", he blushed even more.

"Sure."

We laid back down and soon fell asleep too.

The next morning we woke up with the sunrise.

"Want to do a morning flight?", he jumped up.

"Ehm...sure."

"Do you trust me or do you want the beast?"

"I trust you.", I came closer and kissed him.

He just shyly smiled and held me tight from behind, then he opened his wings and jumped off the cliff. We glided over the kingdom towards the sun, it was beautiful, he held me tight, making sure I felt comfortable. With one quick spin he turned around, I was lying on his stomach now, seeing the birds above me, he turned again and headed back to the cave.

"This was great!"

"I do that every morning, I need some time to free my head."

"We should do that more often."

"For sure. Should we try for the transformation now?"

"Okay, I try.", he closed his eyes and tried to focus.

His scales changed a bit but changed back immediately, he tried a few times and stopped.

"I can't, I'm sorry.", he said with sad eyes.

"I'm here, you can do it I know it, if you want it you can do it, don't give up now.", I grabbed his hands.

"Okay.", he tried again and this time all his scales vanished, his ears got smaller and his eyes turned normal.

"You did it!"

"Really?!"

"Yes!"

"Thank you!", he picked me up.

"We should go now, the fest already started."

"Let's go.", he grabbed my hand.

"Clothes."

"Oh yeah, forgot.", he put on a long sleeved shirt, pants and some of my old shoes.

We sat on my horse and he wrapped his arms around my waist and placed his head on my shoulder, I felt his hair tickling my face, but I had to pull out of his dream when we were a few hundred meters before the gate so they wouldn't see us like this.
