Stephanie is the oldest Wheeler sibling. The first couple years of her life Nancy and Stephanie were always together shared a room, wore similar outfits, even did their hair the same. In 3rd grade Stephanie met a girl who she found to be really fun to hang out with her name was Robin and they have been friends since then. Once they reached 5th grade Nancy and Stephanie stopped sharing a room and stopped wearing similar outfits and doing their hair the same. In fact Nancy let hers grow out and Stephanie cut hers.

Also in 5th grade Stephanie got to help a bunch of kids in middle school and in her own class.this continued into middle school. At Hawkins middle. Stephanie got into photography. Stephanie and Nancy still always helped their little brother with anything he needed for school. Stephanie was very smart like she was way ahead of her class and had the opportunity to skip ahead a couple of grades but she decided against it. Everyone in her Middle School asked her for help, even the older kids. Like one in particular, Eddie Munson he asked her for help on his history and she helped him and he passed. They talked all the time after that, became friends.

Eddie developed feelings for the girl when he got into 8th grade and she was in 6th. He wanted to ask the girl to the snowball and was going to but he chickened out and went alone. Stephanie went with Robin deciding they did not need dates when they had each other, they said to to make each other and themselves feel better. Robin wanted to ask this one girl that she had an infatuation with, didn't like her but wanted to get to know her. Stephanie wanted to go with Eddie but he never asked and she didn't want to get rejected. During the snowball Robin and Stephanie only talked to each other and danced together. After some time they got thirsty, Robin went to go get drinks and Stephanie went to the bathroom only to find and girl with blonde hair searching through her bag trying to find something. "Are you okay? Do you need help?" Stephanie asked. The girl looked up. "Stephanie? I'm fine, do you have lip gloss on you?" The girl asked. "Um, yeah." Stephanie opened her bag and grabbed her lip gloss and handed it over. The girl put it on and handed it back to Stephanie. "Thank you Stephanie." The girl said and she gathered all her thing in her bag. Stephanie put her lip gloss in her bag. "You're welcome Chrissy." After that encounter Chrissy and Stephanie kept talking and that turned into friendship that lasted into high school.

Stephanie and Mike's best friends always got along. She would play DnD with them and watch them when they come over to the Wheeler residents. Will had the best friendship with her out of all of Mike's friends. They just had a bond. He would draw pictures for her which she kept and turned into a piece on her wall in her room. Stephanie would go to the Byers residents a lot because Johnathan and Stephanie would work on the pictures they took together. So, Stephanie and Johnathan got along really well.

Stephanie saw Dustin as a mini her, more than her own brother. He was level headed sometimes, smart, and polite. She got excited when Dustin would come over because she could have a conversation with the kid that would actual points, Dustin felt the same way.

Lucas and Stephanie played pranks on each other all the time and poked at each other for fun. This kid was so caring about everyone's well being and just looked out for Stephanie, he did have a little crush on her when he was younger, it was cute. He grew out of that when he reached middle school. They both like being in each others presence.

Joyce saw Stephanie as a daughter since she was over a lot. Jonathan and Will both enjoyed when she would come over and sometimes Will would beg Joyce to call Karen and ask if Stephanie was coming over.

Karen was by far Stephanie's favourite parent. She barely noticed her father was there and when he contributed to the conversation she was surprised.

Stephanie did not like Steve, strictly because he was an asshole to everyone.
