~Chapter Six~

Y/N POV:

I decide I should get up and go check on the rest of the party and see how they're doing. So I get up out of my bed and walk over to my bedroom door. While I walk I see a photo out of the corner of my eye on my desk which catches my attention so I walk over to it. I pick up the photo seeing it's a picture of me and Johnathan with Will sitting in between us on Christmas Day. We were all huddled up on my couch with hot coco and wrapped in blankets.

We all looked so happy then, so what changed? Why did it change? Why did this happen?

I break out of my thoughts noticing I had tears on my face so I put down the photo, wipe my tears, and continue my journey to my car. I get in and decide to keep my radio off and just drive in silence. Once I get to the Wheelers I get out of my car and walk to the door. I knock and Mike answers pulling me inside and down to the basement. Before I can ask whats happened he shushes me and tells me to not say anything.

He and the rest of the boys proceed to explain that Will is apparently not dead and is trapped in a place called the upside down. I cut them off and tell them to shut up. "Listen, I know we're all struggling to accept what's going on but Will is dead. Period. He's gone. I really am sorry but I literally saw his body today. I went to go with Johnathan and sign for it. I sorry but you guys can't make up stories saying he's still alive. It's all in your head. Everyone has a way to cope and this is your guy's." I say trying to hold in the tears. I didn't wanna cry in front of the boys.

"No, y/n you don't understand. El found him in other her powers. We heard him talking. Can you please just believe us?" Mike begs.

"I want proof that's he's alive. Real proof. Because what I saw today is proving you guys wrong about him still being alive." I answer.

That's when Mike hands El a blindfold and their walkie-talkie. We all watch in silence as El tries to use her powers to "find Will". The room is silent until you can hear static through the walkie-talkie. Then there's breathing. Harsh breathing. Then I hear mumbling. And then I hear something I never thought I would hear... Will's voice. He's calling for Joyce and Johnathan asking where they are. Then he asks for me.

It takes so much energy to not break down hearing his voice. I can't believe it, he's still alive. He's not really gone. I grab the walkie-talkie and speak into it asking if Will can hear me. Then the stupid thing cuts out and there's only static. I keep trying to press the button but it won't work. I look at El and see her looking tired with a bloody nose. I go up to her and hug her. She hugs me back and I tell her to wait. So I go get her toilet paper to wipe her nose with.

I thank her for doing that so I could have proof of Will still being alive. I look to the boys. "I guess I should apologize. I'm sorry for doubting you guys and snapping at you. I was just really upset and let my emotions get ahead of me and go at you. I hope you guys can forgive me" I say.

They all run up to me and embrace me in a group hug. I hug them all back tightly until they break away. "So now that we know he's alive. How are you guys gonna save him from this 'Upside Down'" I ask.

"We don't know. So we're gonna take a rain check on answering that." Mike answers. "Ok. Well when you do let me know, ok?" I respond. "Ok" they all answer. "Well ima go now but you guys stay safe and I'll see you later" I say as I walk up the stairs.

I leave the wheelers and walk back to my car. Once I get in I feel a mix of emotions. Partly relieved about Will being alive but still scared since he's trapped in this 'Upside Down' and I can't help him. He's alone there with nothing to protect himself. I can't imagine how scared he must be. I let the thoughts wonder around my head as I drive back to my place.
