~Chapter Ten~

Y/N POV:

Everything finally ended and is getting back to normal. We got Will back, we killed the demogorgan (which apparently was the creatures's name), and the 'bad men' shouldn't bother us anymore.

"Well that was one hell of a day, huh" I say as Johnathan comes to sit down next to me on the porch. "Yep, sure was" he replies. "So when were you gonna tell me about those powers of yours" he says as he nudges me.

"Well it's a long story and I didn't want anyone to know, but I guess now you and Steve and Nancy do know" I say. I start to explain to him everything. "Wow" he says. "Yep, not your average girl" I say with a laugh. "You never were average" he says as we look into each others eyes.

"Listen I think we should talk about this" I say. "Yeah" he agrees. "I'm not quite ready to fully forgive you and this obviously isn't gonna work out. I can tell you care about Nancy, more than in just a friend type of way. I deserve better and so do you." "Yeah, I guess you're right" he says. "I'm always right, whatcha mean" I reply.

"Friends" he asks. "Yeah, friends" I agree. We look at each other and give each other a hug. That's when Steve comes out of the house Nancy following behind. "Y/n, ready to go" Steve asks. "Yeah, right behind ya."

We say our goodbyes and Steve and I get into Steve's car. We pull out of Johnathan's driveway and as soon as we're on the road Steve asks me a question. "So, how'd you get those powers?" "It's a long story" I respond. "We have time" he says with a grin.

I tell him about how I was an experiment and got my powers through there, how I escaped and was found by my adoptive parents, and that I've just never wanted to show or tell people about them. But then I saw how everyone needed help so I decided to just use my powers.

He looks at me once I finish. "I'm sorry all that happened to you" he said. "It's fine, I've moved on from it" I reply with a smile. He parks in front of my house and for a minute we just look at each other. I see his eyes trail down to my lips and we both start to lean in but I pull away before we can kiss. I don't know if this is right, I just officially ended things isn't Johnathan and I don't know what's going on with Steve and Nancy.

"Well I guess I should go inside" I say with a giggle. "Yeah, I guess so" he says back with a smile. "That is unless you wanna come in with me" I offer. "You know I'll have to take you up on that offer" he says as he turns off his car and follows me inside.

We both crash on the couch with some cookies and a beer laughing about what's happened. We talk for a bit before we realize it's late. "Well I guess I should get going home" Steve says. "Yeah I guess, unless you'd rather stay the night here. I don't know if I trust you driving at night, let alone after you had a beer or two." He smiles and accepts.

I bring him blankets and a pillow to use before going into my room and changing into my pjs. I lay down and shut my eyes. Letting the darkness pull me into a sleep.

Steve POV: (this takes place while y/n and Johnathan are outside talking)

"So" I say to Nancy. We're in the living room alone while Johnathan and y/n are outside. "So" she responds back. We look at each other. "Are we gonna talk about what's going on between us" I ask. "Yeah, I guess we should talk about that" she agrees. "I don't know if I wanna continue this Nance. It seems like there's something going on between you two and before you interrupt me, you don't seem happy." "But I am happy Steve" Nancy says. "Ok then tell me" I say. "Tell you what" she's asks. "That you love me" I finish. She stares at me with disbelief. "Wow" she says.

I scoff. "Listen Nance I know when you're lying because you are a TERRIBLE liar... so I'm gonna do this. Not only for you but also for me. Nancy Wheeler... I'm breaking up with you." She looks at me shocked. "I guess I should've seen this coming" she says. "I'm sorry but let's be real, you're in love with someone else and I don't wanna be second pick" I say. "I'm sorry" she says quietly. "It's whatever" I respond. I start to walk out but she stops me.

"You know I'm not stupid right? I can see you like her, just like you can see I like him. And I fully support it... you guys were so close when we were younger and I always thought you guys would become a couple... then she got with Johnathan and you know how the story goes." She says with a smile.

"Just do me a favor," she says. "Don't mess it up this time." I'm shocked by her reaction. I stay frozen for a second before I nod. "Ok" I say before we walk out of the house seeing y/n and Johnathan hugging. I won't lie, I definitely felt some rage boil up inside of me seeing them. "Y/n, ready to go" I ask. "Yeah, right behind ya" she replies.

I just broke up with Nancy and she's probably still going through stuff with Johnathan.

"Well I guess I should go inside" she says with a giggle. Oh and her giggle. This girl is doing terrible things to me. "Yeah, I guess so" I respond while putting on a fake smile. "That is unless you wanna come in with me" she offers. I perk up. "You know I'll have to take you up on that offer" I say as I turn off my cat before following her inside

She brings me a few pillows and blankets before heading upstairs. I lay there thinking about her and everything that's happened. I eventually fall asleep with a smile on my face.
