We all ride in silence for the next couple of days off and on. One member of each duo takes a shift at night to keep an eye on each other. My mind is on Uncle Ames and I wonder where he is or if he had gotten captured after everything that has happened. Michael thinks we shouldn't trust our new companions. I'm not quite sure just yet. After all, the woman did save my life and Michael's. Plus, they haven't shown any violence towards us at all during the ride so far, but I understand Michael's hesitation to trust new people especially after how fast we were betrayed.

On the second day the woman finally introduces herself as Avona and her male companion as her brother Silas, but that was all that was spoken. At the end of the second day of riding with our new companion on the dusty dirt we come upon a valley with a crystal clean stream in it. Tired as we are, Michael and I steer our horses towards a stream that could be seen from the road. After stopping near it, I slide down off my saddle, and lead the horse to the stream to let him drink. After the stallion was done, Michael and I walk around for a few seconds, stretching out our cramped-up muscles.

"We shouldn't be stopping, Your Majesty," Avona's voice travels towards us as she and her brother both stop their horses as well next to us, giving me a chance to get a look at them.

I was right on estimating her age during those few seconds I had after the guards were killed. She looks to be around five feet and five inches with green eyes. Her hair is a long flowing chocolate brown which she wore in a braid down the middle of her back. She wears an outfit that could help her blend in anywhere and two swords in sheaths crisscrossed on her back. She also wears a vest with a hoodie on the back that is covered in knives that were placed in holders sewn into the vest.

Her brother, Silas or the silent one as I have dub him because he hasn't spoken not one word yet was about six feet even with the same chocolate brown hair. His eyes are the color of the ocean. He wears basically the same outfit as his sister only he has a sword at his side and a magnificent looking jet-black bow on his back. I look up and realize that Silas has caught me staring at him and he weapons and I feel my face turn a little red so I focus my attention back his sister.

"As Michael said before we appreciate your help back there, but I think it's time we part ways," I tell them and try to hand the reins of our horses back over to Avona.

She shakes her head at me, "They're a gift from my people, at least those still loyal to your parents."

"Who are you?"

Avona smiles at Michael and me, "My name is Avona, and this is my brother Salis, but I already told you that. What I didn't tell you is our mother is from your kingdom."

"And your father?"

"Our father is the High King of Entea Forest." Salis finally speaks letting us hear him for the first time and not bothering to hide the bitterness in his voice. I must have a confused look on my face because he adds, "We're half-elf." Like that explains it. I already figured that out but that explains the ears and the skill with the blades.

"A word, Tobias. Please." Michael speaks up through gritted teeth, and just stares at our new "friends." cautiously. I have one of my feelings telling me that he already knew what I was planning. Michael leads me a short way away, every now and then glancing back at our guests, "We don't know them." was the first thing to come out of his mouth.

"They could have left us to die." I instantly counter back.
"It could be a way to gain our trust, then betray us later." Michael counters back again. I look back over at Avona and her brother, who was just waiting patiently by the river watching us as well. I saw Avona say something to her brother that made him shake his head but smile a little.
