Today is a busy day at the club. Valentine's Day, where all the lonely men and women come to get drunk and watch strippers dance.

I don't steal on busy days, someone is more likely to see.

A man comes up to the bar and sits at a stool with ease. He is sober, maybe only one drink in. His brown eyes stare into mine with such confidence it's intimidating. He wears a nice black suit that fits his body perfectly.

What is a man like this doing here?

"Don't waste your time checking me out sweetheart, I don't have anything you would want to steal." He smirks.

I inhale a sharp breath, what did he just say?

I open my mouth to deny him but he stops me.

"But you don't steal on busy nights like this. Don't worry, I know."

"Who are you?" Is all I can ask, "What do you want?"

He laughs, "I'm not here to blackmail you," he leans forward on his elbows, lowering his voice. "I'm here to offer you a job."

"What type of job?"

"A job where you would make 10 times what you're making now just for seducing and stealing."

I furrow my eyebrows, "Why would I need to do that?"

"We could talk about it more if you decide to take the job."

"Who are you?" I ask once again.

"Leo Ashford, leader of the Ashford mafia."

"Mafia?" I'm hit with an immediate feeling of fear.

"Mmhm, so you taking the job or not?"

"I'm not joining the mafia." I say as confidently as I can in front of a man who probably kills on a regular basis.

He shrugs, "Okay, whatever you say Ember Gray." He gets up. "If you tell anyone about this I will kill them." With yet another smirk, he leaves the club.

As the door closes behind him I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

What the fuck.

The first time I met Leo was about three months ago. He had come to the club multiple times since then to try to convince me to take the job. I was set on always saying no because I never liked stealing anyways, I didn't want it to become my career. And for the obvious reason that I didn't want to be part of the mafia either.

Now I feel that I have no choice. What is morally right and wrong hasn't stopped me for years to make money. I guess this is who I am, stealing is what I do. God, how did my life take such a turn for the worst?

But I know I will be the best thief in world if I have to.

Leo told me to go to the giant Ashford building in the busy part of the city. I told him I didn't have a way to get there, so he sent someone to pick me up.
