Wendy led the two of them towards the entrance, nearly dragging Nolan along in her full sprint. She'd never run so fast before, even when it meant death if she didn't. She just kept running.
She held Nolan's hand in her own, gripping onto him tightly. The finally stopped once they were at the entrance. Wendy stared up at the ceiling, spotting one of the sticks of dynamite she placed earlier.
"Give me the stick." She held out her hand to him, which he placed the stick in instantly.
"What's the plan?" he asked as she walked over to the wall, holding out her plated glove towards it.
"I am going to light this stick of dynamite with a spark from these gloves," she replied, swiping the metal at the rock as she tried to create a big enough spark to light it. "Then I will use my abilities to fly us out of here and to safety."
"I thought you couldn't fly us out both out of here?!"
"Well, I now have the proper motivation." With a final swipe, the spark lit the stick of dynamite. She turned back to Nolan, taking his hand in hers and leapt up. "Hold on tight!" she yelled to him as the blue vapor flew off her legs, lifting herself off the ground and then Nolan.
Wendy struggled at first to maintain their climbing altitude. She eventually got the hang of it as they grew closer towards the entrance and the ceiling. She looked towards the stick, realizing how little time she had left.
She pressed her lips together tightly and pulled her arm back as they grew closer and closer, timing her throw. With all the power she had left, she threw the stick of dynamite towards the one stuck in the ceiling of the cave.
Wendy grabbed Nolan's hand with her newly freed hand, focusing all her energy in speeding up their exit out of there. Nolan tightened his grip on her hands as they drew further and further from the cave.
The explosions began in the cave, destroying the ceiling and beginning the cave-in. Nolan shut his eyes tightly as he looked away from the dust blowing up from the destruction.
With a final pull, they made it to the surface. Wendy threw Nolan towards the already-open door, causing it to break off its hinges from the force. He tumbled into the street, Wendy following him as she barely made it out.
She fell after him, rolling a couple times as she landed just past him. They looked back towards the bar, watching as it collapsed in with the cave.
"The owner is not going to appreciate that," Wendy commented as the dust blew around them.
"You are so funny."
Nolan pulled himself to his feet and walked over to Wendy, helping her up as well. He acted as a crutch to her, holding her up as she was visibly shaking from the endeavor and the complete strain on her body.
They watched as the dust settled. The townspeople began to come out of their stores and homes to see the commotion. Marcos and Lucy emerged from the crowd, growing closer towards the two.
"What happened down there?" Lucy questioned, looking between the battered duo.
"No one will be able to access the SuperSource ever again," Wendy simply responded.
"And Abigail? Kita? Titan?" Marcos followed up.
"I'm sorry. They didn't make it," Nolan responded, quietly as the crowd grew bigger.
Marcos and Lucy looked to one another and then back to them. Lucy stepped forward and took Wendy's hand. "I hope you don't regret what you've done."
"I don't. I do suggest you two start looking for another job though. This one is a little... messy."
