Chapter 11: Evermore

It was my birthday, July 13. It was a rainy day with the rain pitter pattering on my window pane. It was also very cold but my mom insisted we celebrated my birthday. I was a little bit sick because of the cold so my mom told me to stay on my room and only get out when I'm already feeling well. I took some meds and opened Facebook. I was looking for Collei's account. I wanted to talk to him since I'm a little bit sick and maybe, he can distract me from this sickness.

[Hey, what are you doing rn?]

I waited for his response while I lay down on my bed. I was looking up the ceiling, coughing and sneezing on a tissue. I heard a ding from my cellphone which made me check it immediately. It was a text from Collei.

[Nothing much, hbu?]

[Happy birthday!!! Btw]

I smiled and blushed a little bit. I thought he forgot about my birthday. I covered myself with a blanket and thought thoroughly about what should my response would be. Should it be cool or should I be affectionate. Before I could say anything, there was another notification on my phone.

[Open your door, please]

The doorbell rang after I read the message. I stood up and twisted the door knob to open the door. I saw my mom obviously panicking, because she is a perfectionist sometimes especially when it comes to cooking, and then she locked eyes on me.

"Axton, why are you out? Are you healed? You don't have coughs already?" she asked me. I nodded. I actually didn't have any coughs even before. I just needed an excuse to stay in bed all day without being called lazy in the house. I really just am lazy though.

"Answer the door, please. I need to make spaghetti," she told me. I nodded and rushed down to the door. When I opened the door, it was as though I was having a dream. I didn't know it was possible of him being here but now, he was. It was Collei, standing in the middle of the rain, with a sweater and some pants like he just ran from UST to here in a matter of minutes. I think he was standing there for over 20 minutes before he even got the courage to ring the door bell. I was shocked.

"What the fuck, Collei. Are you insane?" I asked him. I let him inside and he was wet all over. My mom came out of nowhere and I was stunned. "Collei, how nice to see you here. Why are you wet from the rain. Axton, let him inside your room," she asked.

We walked up the stairs to my room. I think I have something that will fit Collei so he could change. "Collei, take a shower while I find some clothes," I told him. He obliged and so, I scavenged in my closet to find anything that is remotely decent.

"Love, can I use this soap? Please," he asked which is kind of similar to how people ask but with a little bit of shouting. "Yeah, sure. Use anything in there, just don't make a mess," I told him. I love my bathroom so much that I wouldn't allow anyone inside of it. Well, him at least since I like to test my boundaries and also because there are no other bathrooms other than mine that is available. Kelsey doesn't like it when people use hers and also my parents. The guest bathroom doesn't have a shower.

I found a shirt and a hoodie with pants that blend in with the shirt and the hoodie well. I waited for him to finish showering when I heard a bell rang downstairs. I think it's my friends. "I'll get it!" I shouted. I rushed downstairs leaving Collei in the shower.

I opened the door and there they were, Havriel and Mikaela. Yeah, they are my only close friends and I didn't want everyone to come to my birthday party and only knowing them for one day. They might cause a scene and I might have the worst birthday party.

"Come on in, come on in," I told them. I heard someone come down the stairs and it was Collei, wearing the white t-shirt and the hoodie I laid out for him. "Hey, is this for me?" Collei asked. I turned around and nodded at him. Oh my god, he looks hot in my clothes.

"Collei, meet my friends," I told him. He walked down the stairs while Mikaela and Havriel looked at me with wide eyes. When he reached the end of the stairs, he grabbed my waist and looked at them with a smile. His smile was soft like he was welcoming them into his life. "Oh, Mikaela, Havriel. You're here already. Good thing, I already finished making the spaghetti," my mom said. We went inside the kitchen and Havriel pinched me which made me groan. When Havriel pinches someone, he wanted their attention because he wanted to speak to them.

My mom gave us 4 plates. One for me, for Havriel, for Mikaela, and then for Collei. Collei got some spaghetti but was later called by Dad to his office. "What?" I asked Havriel. He was going berserk about Collei and I rolled my eyes at him.

"That is your boyfriend, my god. You are winning," they both said. I laughed and continued eating my spaghetti. I looked around to look for Kelsey which was nowhere to be seen. So, I called out to mom to ask her about where Kelsey was. She never misses any of my birthdays before.

"Mom, where's Kelsey?" I asked her. She shrugged saying she didn't know where she was. We started to get worried about Kelsey's safety. She was always in here, probably talking about something or watching something when waiting for my mother to finish cooking, but now she's gone.
