Chapter 21: I Met You Again

I was going to one of Mikaela’s shows. I have never attended any modeling shows so it’s quite a new experience for me. I wanted to support a friend and maybe this is the best thing, to see them in their own line of work. Even though I am busy making a new book, I always make time for my friends and I heard Taylor Swift is going to sing on the show so I hope this is going to be a good one. Well, that and being supportive to my friend is the best thing. But I really wanted a Taylor Swift picture.
I was sitting at the 5th column of Row C which is a little bit closer. There were 4 empty chairs right next to me. 1 on my right which I think is the seat where Kelsey will be sitting and 3 other chairs on my left.

“Axton! You’re here early,” I heard Kelsey say. I raised my hand and saw her bringing snacks. “Wow, that’s a lot. We’re just watching women walk with elegant clothing, not watching a movie,” I said. She rolled my eyes at me and sat on my right, eating chips left and right.

“Can I have some?” I asked her. She gave me one bag of chips and I thanked her. When I started munching and looking at my Instagram feed, there were still going to be 20 minutes left until they started walking like models. I was going to record everything.

“Oh, I met Thaddeus and his friends. He is going to sit on your left and I’m not supposed to say this but your ex is here,” she said after tapping my shoulder. My heart dropped for a second and I don’t know what to do. What should I tell him? Do I pretend to get sick or maybe I can use this opportunity to go off the grid and just leave the world that I know. Yeah, that’s cool. That’s okay. I started to panic. What are we even going to talk about? Oh, hi Collei. How are you after our breakup?

“They’re approaching, be cool be cool,” she said looking at what seems to be three guys: Kazu, Thaddeus, and Collei. “I am cool!” I said, confused. She was not cool. I feel like she likes someone from the three of them. Betting on Kazu because I know how she likes Japanese guys.

“Hi,” I said as Collei was standing right next to me. I saw how he looked a little bit tired and just smiled at me in response. He tapped Kazu’s shoulder before taking a seat. Then, I saw how they played Rock Paper Scissors. Kazu won. I saw how he cheered. I was all out of luck when Collei sat right next to me. I felt like I should talk small but we’re not really that close now that much but I think I wanted to reconcile for a little bit and make it up to him.

“Hi, how are you?” I heard him say. I was going to respond but with a slight gaze from my peripheral vision, I saw how he wasn’t facing me so I did the same, answering his question while still facing the stage. “Fine, good. You?” I asked.

“Good,” he said bluntly. When he finished talking, the lights opened and everything shined on the stage. Everyone started clapping so I clapped too. “Now, let me welcome Dream Girls with Taylor Swift,” the announcer said and then I heard Style playing in the background as Taylor Swift appeared from below the stage.

Midnight, you come and pick me, no headlights

1 model walked with Taylor Swift wearing a long dress that made her look elegant. It was pink and the legs were showing because the front of the dress was cut out, showing the legs perfectly. She was wearing heels too.

Long drive, could end in a burning place or paradise

Another model came out wearing a black gown reaching her ankles. One of the parts was cut to show her right leg, the seam was bedazzled with white gems to make it stand out from the other dress that we just have seen.

Fade into view, oh, it’s been a while since I’ve even heard from you

The third model was wearing a black dress but it was a little bit transparent. The back had a v cut so that we could see her back a little more but it was small. If she wore it in the front, it would look like a shirt.

And I should tell you to leave cause I know where it exactly leads but I watch us go around and around each time

Another model was wearing a little bit the same as what the third model is wearing but it has a fur scarf, a black one that really fitted her outfit so well and I just hope that they did justice to Mikaela and gave her the looks the other models had. She is a wonderful model and she would love to be just like those girls.

Cause you got that Jay Dean daydream look in your eyes. And I got that red lip classic thing that you like. And when we go crashing down we come back every time, we never go out of style.

Mikaela came out with a black dress that had red patterns on the end of it which made it look like roses. She was elegant and had a magnificent poise and she kept her head up just like what she wanted to do. Everyone cheered for her but she looked so serious. I clapped for her and her fiance was there, shouting his heart out to support his fiance. I saw her blow a kiss to Thaddeus. Thaddeus moved his hand, saying that he got the kiss. He blew her a kiss and she turned around, waving her hair around. But I noticed, even with the commotion of his friends, Collei never said anything

I heard him whisper.
