The woods came alive as the sun set. Even though there was barely any light, I still attempted to see through the dark. As I tried my best not to trip, I pulled my cardigan around me. I still held on tightly to the photo of my true love as I tried my best to find where I was. I was completely lost in the woods, and I couldn't find a way out. As I remembered the events that led to where I was now, I swallowed the lump in my throat. I couldn't believe that I lost control earlier... My life has now changed forever. But is it for the better or the worse?

As I wandered around, it slowly got darker and darker until I couldn't make out anything around me. As the darkness surrounded me, I looked around as I desperately tried to see, but nothing came into focus. I cried as tears clouded my vision, which made it even harder to see. Suddenly, I tripped on a branch. I felt my body launch forward, and I dropped my Edward Cullen photo. I screamed as I closed my eyes, waiting to hit the ground. To my surprise, the ground felt hard and cold, but somehow soft. Instead of the air getting knocked out of me, I felt comfort as something wrapped around me. I slowly opened my eyes and looked up, and then I screamed. I felt something—or someone—cover my lips, realizing someone's fingers had shushed me.

I have fallen into the arms of a stranger.

"Well, I wouldn't say a stranger." I hear the man say. My eyes widened. Not only was that voice familiar, but he also responded to my direct thought. Or maybe I said it out loud. I pushed the man away while trying not to trip again.

"Who... Who are you?" I say, fear in my tone. I was shaking harder, either from the icy touch of the mystery man or from the fear of the whole situation.

God, I wish Edward Cullen was here right now. He would make me feel so much better.

"Well... good thing that I'm here for you." He said, amusement in his tone. My heart dropped and then started pounding.

"No... it can't be... you're just some fairytale–you aren't real," I whispered into the dark. He came closer to me and put his hand on my cheek, caressing it.

"But I am," he whispered back.

My eyes filled with tears for the fourth time that day. The love of my life was real, and he was standing right in front of me. Edward Cullen was real, and he was here. He wiped away my tears with his thumb as he slowly looked into my eyes. His gold orbs stared back at me through the dark.

We stared at each other in the darkness for a while before he dropped his hand from my face. I instantly wish that he would put it back.

"Come with me back to my house... meet my family. We can figure out what to do from there." He said. His words were slow and pronounced. He put thought into what he was going to say before saying it. It only made me like him more.

I nodded into the dark, grabbing his icy hand to make sure he was truly there. He was.

"Okay. I would love to meet your family, Edward. But.. where do you live? Forks, Washington isn't a real place.." I said.

"Don't worry about that. Sometimes things aren't what they seem. Also, it actually is, I don't know what you're on about." He says. He laughs a bit, finding my lack of geography skills to be funny. I felt a bit bad because of it, but my focus right now was on trying to figure out if this was just one big dream.

"How many times do I have to tell you, Jelly Belly? I am real. I promise this isn't a dream." He reassures me. I felt relaxed after hearing his words of confrontation. I then registered what he called me.

"Jelly Belly?" I ask, laughing out of awkwardness. I mean, it isn't every day your supposed fictional crush finds you in the woods in Texas, telling you to meet his family.

"It's a nickname... I hope that's okay?"

I look away, blushing. "Of course it's okay."

The next thing I know, he throws me on his back and starts running insanely fast through the forest. Wow! I feel like a real vampire right now (which I am). I screamed in both fear and happiness, as the feeling was oddly euphoric. He chuckles at my reaction, which I barely catch because of the wind rushing past us.

After a few more minutes, he stops and puts me down on the ground. I fight the urge to fall over from the dizziness of the experience, and I look ahead to see a massive house.

Oh. My. God.

It's the one from the movie! I squeal excitedly before letting out a blood-curdling scream. What can I say? Sometimes when I'm nervous, I scream like I'm in a horror movie... Connecticut also made fun of me for that.

Edward looks upset because he heard my thoughts. I look at him and mouth, "we'll talk later" and he nods as he composes himself. He still seems upset but is feeling excited because I'm about to meet his family. I hope they like me...

"Of course, they'll like you, Vecky. Don't worry about that. Alice has seen your arrival and has shared it with everyone already! They are all excited to see you." He smiles.

Before I can even reply, a girl with a pixie cut appears out of thin air.

"It's true! We've all been so excited to meet you! Especially considering that you're Edward's mate!" Alice frowns, realizing what she just said. She has a look of regret as if she wasn't supposed to say anything. Edward scowls at her as she just shrugs in apology. Alice looks back at me. "Anyway, I'm Alice! I've seen that we are going to be GREAT friends!" she says before shaking my hand energetically. I smile sheepishly at her, as I'm still trying to take everything in.

"Alice, let Vecky breathe. After all, she just got here." Edward says, pushing Alice away since he is mad at her but trying to hide it, but I am his mate and I can tell my Eddie Poo is mad. Edward hears my thoughts and smiles brightly at the nickname he heard. Alice has a knowing look and backs away, staring at us.

"Alright... Well, I'll be inside if you need me! Again, it was nice to meet you, Vecky." She says before zooming off again. I turn to Edward. He just smirks at me, as if proving his point of his family liking me. I shrug in response and shake my head.

"Sorry about her... she's just excited to finally have a friend outside of our coven," Edward says, shaking his head.

"Don't worry about it! I'm just trying to process everything still, that's all. Your family seems lovely, though, considering I've only met Alice."

"They're all lovely. EXCEPT for Rosalie..." He mumbled the last part, but I still heard him.

From somewhere inside the house, a flatscreen tv comes hurtling out of a window, breaking it. It comes flying towards me with a supernatural strength that only my fellow vampires could possess. I freeze and close my eyes as it comes closer. The next thing I know, I feel something cold and hard bump into me, rendering me unconscious. The world faded out from around me as everything went quiet.
