I woke up to the annoying sound of my alarm going off. Groaning, I rolled over as I opened my eyes. I started by smacking it, but the alarm wouldn't turn off. I got so mad that I got up and threw it across the wall. Oopsises. Maybe it'll still work!
It caught on fire. I screamed.
"Vecky, what was that?" Esme asked as she knocked on the door.
"There's a small fire... Uh..."
"WHAT?!" I heard a few people scream. Edward, Esme, and Alice all burst into the room. Esme held a fire extinguisher and immediately extinguished it. Alice came rushing towards me and bombarded me with a million questions. They reminded me of the Despicable Me scene where they have the minions come in trying to put out a fire ((https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htcQ6CIKqGg)). The thought made me burst into laughter. Everyone looked at me weirdly. Edward must have heard my thoughts since he cracked a smile.
"How did this even happen? How do you even start a fire by throwing an alarm clock?!" Alice decided to share her thoughts with the class. Everyone nodded in agreement. I guess that's what everyone was wondering as well.
"I don't know! I was tired and got mad and threw it at the wall. It's not my fault that alarm clocks were made so fragile." I said, shrugging. "I need to get ready for school. Sorry about the small fire. It won't happen again."
Everyone slowly left my room. I sighed. I can't believe this was how my day started! How did an alarm clock even catch on fire like that? This is rigged.
I started getting ready. I honestly tried to procrastinate since I didn't want to go to school. Even though most people seemed nice, I hated the stares. Everyone was constantly analyzing me, talking about me, and trying to figure me out. It was exhausting to be the center of attention all the time. It made me feel extremely self-conscious. Everyone is saying that it will stop soon, but in the books, everyone is constantly interested in them. I think they're lying to me to make me feel better. I hope I get used to it soon.
I froze. I completely forgot about the books! Do they even know about the books? How do I fix this massive plot hole I made? I headed downstairs and tried my best to pretend that everything was normal. It was hard since my thoughts were filled with Edward and Bella. I wished I had Bella's gift at this moment.
"Hey, Vecky... Are you okay?" Alice said, appearing out of nowhere. I screamed as I turned around to face her.
"I'm fine, Alice! Everything is cool! I feel so coolio right now! Nothing is wrong! Why do you ask?" I said as I mentally facepalmed. Who the fuck says coolio?
"Right... Well, uh, we should get to school or we're going to be late. We should talk later."
"Yeah! Can't wait to talk later as we discuss things! I love talking! Yippee!"
Alice awkwardly laughed as she walked away. I wonder if she has seen anything about the future when it comes down to Edward, Bella, and me. How will the plot between the book and my life differ? Are the Twilight books fate and I'm just a side character?
"You're a side character?" I hear a sexy voice come from behind me. I turn around and see Edward staring at me. A shiver goes down my spine as I look at the hottest man (besides his dad) in the world.
"Nothing. Don't worry about it, Edward."
"Are you okay? You seem off. You acted weird when talking to Alice, too. No one unironically says 'coolio' unless something is wrong."
"Nothing is wrong! I'm feeling totally tubular!" Oh my fucking god.
"Totally tubular?"
"Yes! It's my new word for the day! Words. It's my new words for the day." I forced out a laugh.
