3rd person POV

"The key is to remember to clean up as you go." Osamu wonders off to the pantry again and takes out something Suna doesn't even know how to pronounce. Suna is rolling out some dough, flower coats his hands and the front of the apron he is wearing. Osamu is guiding Suna on how to make some weird— complicated bread.

There's some fresh basil and garlic— boy it smells good. Well, it would smell good if Suna could breathe through his bloody nostrils. Suna's nose is stuffed up, his throat is terribly sore and his head is aching from being up right. Suna is rolling— or is he meant to be kneading?— the bread? Osamu is telling him something, but Suna is too tuned out to listen.

"Suna? Are you listening?" Osamu asks Suna and gets a few blinks in response. "I said you need to drop it on the bench a few times to get any air bubbles out." Osamu elaborates to fill in Suna's confusion. "Oh‐ sorry, Samu." Suna does as told and drops the dough onto the counter a couple of times, resulting in flour getting wafted into Suna's face. The thin powder gets caught in Suna's throat and he breaks into a fit of coughs.

Osamu's eyebrows crease as Suna hacks up a lung and he starts patting Suna's back. "You okay?" Osamu asks once Suna can breath again, it felt like glass was in Suna's throat every time he exhaled, so you can only imagine how much it hurt to talk. "Yeah- just the flour- tickled my throat." Suna brushes it off and continues rolling the dough like before.

Osamu walks off to get a bowl and cling wrap. Suna still feels the tickle in his throat and tries to muffle another cough with his elbow, relieved when Osamu doesn't spare him a look. They continue working the bread dough until they're putting something else in the oven— Osamu saying something about using the leftover ingredients.

Suna opens the hot kitchen appliance with oven mittens and the intense heat he was already feeling gets ten times worse. It makes his head hurt, temperature climb and vision swim. Suna has to hold the counter for support when he stands back upright from bending down to the oven.

Osamu is starting to sense something after he sees the discomfort on Suna's face. He studies his boyfriend a little harder, noticing the slight changes in his behaviour and sick-er complexion. "What else do—" Suna feels another tickle and he coughs until he almost ends up gagging. "Suna... I think we should just leave it here, you sound sick." Osamu finally concludes.

Suna swallows the thick amount of spit in his mouth, nodding, he can't really lie and say he's not sick after that. Suna undoes his apron and walks over to hang it back up. Suna is struggling to keep his eyes open under the seemingly harsh light of the kitchen ceiling. Osamu takes a good look at Suna before walking over and placing the back of his hand on his forehead.

"Suna? You've got a fever." Osamu states, frowning at how warm Suna felt. Osamu gets a glass of water and brings it back for Suna to drink. Suna smiles as a thanks before taking generous sips. It sooths his throat with the coolness, but swallowing is still painful. Once Suna finishes drinking, he gives the glass back to Osamu.

Suna sniffles and it agitates his throat. Suna begins letting out wet coughs into the back of his hand. Osamu starts rubbing Suna's back but he continues coughing. Suna doesn't know when or what happens, but he coughs up some water into his hand, two mouthfuls of the liquid he just drank coats his hand and part of the floor.

Osamu is stunned, Suna is stunned and they both don't really know what to do. "Shit— uh- did you just throw up–? Wait- do you need to go to the bathroom?" Osamu frantically looks around while Suna is swallowing a sob trying to escape. Turns out Suna fails and he lets out a few whimpers before tears flow down his cheeks.
