***IMPORTANT A/N AT THE END***

3rd person POV

"Nice receive Yaku-san!!" Lev says for the umpteenth time. Yaku has been diving and digging the ball nonstop as they work hard for the point. Yaku starts to feel out of breath, lungs aching for a proper dose of air.

The sound of the coach calling a time-out has to be the best sound Yaku's heard the whole practice match. The team tiredly walk to the benches, wipe their sweat and guzzle down water. Yaku sucks in deep breaths but coughs interrupt him and he turns to smother them into his elbow.

The team gathers to have a talk about strategies and what they can improve on but Yaku spaces out as he tries to catch his breath before he gets back on the court. Lev notices Yaku's unusually out-of-breath self and his brows furrow with a twinge of worry and confusion. Yaku is fitter than him? Why is he so puffed out?

Hm, that's strange. Even after their 5 minute time-out Yaku is still tired and his chest is starting to hurt—wait why does he feel light-headed all of a sudden? Why is the room spinning? Is the floor close to his face or is he just short?

"Yaku-san!!!" "Mori?!"

Lev quickly runs over to his upper-classman, concern radiating for his boyfriend. He should have done something when he noticed how out of breath Yaku was. Dammit. Kuroo and Kenma are also bent down near Yaku's passed-out body. The coaches are yelling and Karasuno is worried about their opponent's libero.

"Call an ambulance! His pulse is low!!"

"Please step aside so we can attend to the patient."

"We'll take him in, seems like he's lacking oxygen."

Lev is shaking and his mind has gone fuzzy. I mean his boyfriend has an oxygen mask on and is going to the hospital for christ's sake!!  They allow two passengers to come with them in the ambulance and they deem Lev and one of the coaches suitable to ride with Yaku.

Lev feels dampness on his cheeks but he sees that Yaku has regained some consciousness and his eyelids flutter as his chest heaves up and down, taking in the oxygen. The paramedic is also in the back of the van with them as they drive, checking Yaku's vitals and reassuring Lev that Yaku is going to be okay.

"So it's n-nothing bad?!" Lev gapes at the paramedic, his heart aching for his Yaku. "That's right, dear. Yaku-kun will be okay. We just have to take him to the hospital and assure he's stable and all good to go home and rest." The kind lady says, offering a warm smile.

At that Lev takes some deep breaths himself and slips his hand into Yaku's, intertwining their fingers. The coach pats Lev on the back for comfort. The rest of the ride is smooth apart from the blaring sirens of the ambulance that hurts Yaku's head and ears.

He's still feeling a little tight in the chest and the oxygen is drying out his throat, making him cough and splutter. The light-headedness is still present and being in an unfamiliar environment in the back of a van is always unsettling. Yaku tries to focus on the warmth of Lev's hand.

Although Yaku thinks it's a little overkill, the paramedics say it's just part of the routine and they take Yaku into the hospital on the stretcher. Yaku keeps his eyes on Lev to reduce his panic, what's wrong with him? Why does he have to go to the hospital? Is he dying? Yaku thought it would be more painful than this.
