Chapter 4

(Y/N's POV)

I wanted to take a nap on my bed but I couldn't get that Twitter account out of my mind. Around 6:00 pm it was raining slightly so I stayed inside watching movies and other stuff like that. Then the doorbell rang. I opened the door to one of Max's classmates standing there with something behind his back.

"Hey Y/N." He greeted. "Here's something for you. I'm wondering if you wanna hang out today."

He pulled out a rose. Oh fuck.

"Um... sure. But I need to know your name." I agreed after a minute of hesitation.

"Delmar. Delmar Elwood."

"Alright just give me some time to get ready." I agreed.

This is strange. I've only heard of this guy's name a couple times because Maxi talks about him once in a while. I got myself ready; curl my hair, put on fancy clothes, did my make-up, and I was ready to roll. I ran downstairs and I see that Delmar actually waited for me. Does he have feelings or is this another prank from one of the Russo's? We both walk outside but I kept a sharp eye for anyone we walk past.

He took me into a van and let me call shotgun, so he drove me somewhere. Honestly, I fell asleep during the car ride but Delmar put his jacket over me so I can stay warm and cozy. After what felt like forever, I wake up to an endless parking lot filled with cars with a big screen behind us. What the fuck what happening?

"Um, Delmar? I have a quick question. Where are we?" I worried a bit.

"Don't be afraid, it's just a drive-in movie. Crazy Rich Asians." He explained.

  I look at the back of the van, and this whole set up was lit with vanilla scented candles and pillow with blankets included. This was all my dreams wrapped up into one. The only thing missing was my best friend. Max.

"Why didn't you invite Max too?" I asked.

"Well, because he's been talking to me about you 24/7. I wanted to see who you're really are but you are no different than what Max tells me." He clarified.

Maxi talks about me? I get bored because I watched this movie a few times already, so I climb up the van to look around the place as people watched the movie. Then I spot Max & Justin hang out with each other in the back of a truck. I'm assuming that was Justin's vehicle.

"Hey Delmar, I'm gonna go get us some drinks & popcorn. I'll be back." I lie.

"Just be back in a little bit. It gets to the good part." He requested.

I jump off the van and land on the ground but I somehow tripped and managed to scrape my knee badly. Shit. I had to limp all the way to Max & Justin, but they were right behind us so it the walk wasn't really as painful.

"Oh my God Y/N what happened!?" Max exclaimed.

 "You need that injury disinfected before bacteria forms in it & cause an infection. I told you that first aid kit would come in handy, Max!" Justin argued as he grabbed the emergency kit.

He grabbed the antibiotics and poured in on the wound. Justin also pulled out the gauze and tape from the emergency kit & wrap around my knee too. For a really "brave" guy, he does have a weak spot for some people. I couldn't help but cover my face to blush hard.

After calming down, Max gave him a death stare. Justin didn't seem to mind this awkward moment but I sure did. I just sat in-between the 2 brothers and laid my head on Max's shoulder for 15 minutes, then switched to Justin's shoulder for another 15 minutes.

"Hey Y/N, shouldn't you be walking over to Delmar's van? He's been waiting a long time. You've been here for 30 minutes now, and the movie's about to end." Max gives me a smile and tried to shoo me away.

At this point, I knew what he was up to.

"...How do YOU know I'm hanging out with Delmar?" I inquired.

He muttered something but I couldn't hear what he said. Then Max stuttered for a minute until Delmar came walking towards us three. 

"What are you doing here Y/N!? I thought you were gonna get snacks." He grunted. That bitch had good acting skills, I'll admit to that.

"Quit the act, D. I know you're up to something!" I hiss.

"Yeah, quit it. We all know you were up to no good." Max joins in.

"Really Max, you wanna play that game? Alright Y/N, listen carefully. Max wan-" Delmar's mouth is shut by Max's pillow

He walked him back to the van to have a secret talk. Max thinks he's smart enough? We'll see about that.

I wave my wand around. "Some people are a gem, some people are a rat-" I'm interrupted.

"Don't you think your family will get mad at you if you used magic unsupervised?" Justin whispered.

"It's fine, I only use it in public once in a while. Besides, if I do get in trouble, I'll blame it on you. You are technically the adult here so you should be supervising me." I manipulate him.

"Alright but if I get grounded, I'm telling them for your family to ground you too." Justin said.

"Some people are a gem, some people are a rat. To learn who's who, give me the ear of a bat." I chant. 

Magic did it's thing, and I got my bat ears. I eavesdropped into their chat.

"I know I'm getting paid $10 from you so I can pretend to like her, but I've actually developed feelings!" Delmar admitted.

"The plan was for you to be controlling so Y/N can say that I'm her 'boyfriend' and I protect her from you. She's the one who has to develop feelings for me. I told you a million times, Y/N's falling for my older brother!" Max complained.

I sat and listened through the whole thing, watching my dream become a nightmare. Justin switched his eye contact from me to Max and Delmar every minute.

(Justin's POV)

I couldn't help but ask Y/N what Max and Delmar were saying.

"Max payed Delmar to treat me horribly so I can stop having feelings for you." She said in tears.

"It's gonna be ok Y/N. Come over here and let it all out."

She rests her head on my right arm as I rub the side of her stomach. At least Y/N doesn't know that I was supposed to follow the plan. Max was pointing at us and yelling at Delmar while he yelled back. Then she stood up straight.

"What does Delmar mean by 'He's not following the plan either'!?" Y/N explodes.

"I can explain!" I try to add. She doesn't bother listening to me.

"Last time you tried apologizing, you made the problem worse. At this point, you're better off not talking to me! You and your brother make me SICK." Y/N barked. She gave me one last glance before she flashed out. Max and Delmar heard & saw what happened. Once again, I messed up. Why am I like this?...
