Chapter 10: Why are you looking at me

Scott and I followed Jackson seeing Allison's dad we go over and Scott says waving "Yo." I smirk saying "What's up?" Scott then asks, "Is everything okay?" 

Her dad Chris answers looking at Jackson "Hey, Scott. Your friend, here, was having car trouble. We're just taking a look." 

Scott mentions "There's a shop right down the street. I'm sure they have a tow truck." I say "Yeah. You want a ride?" 

Scott opens the door and I continue "Hey, come on, Jackson. You're way too pretty to be out here all by yourself." 

As Jackson comes over Scott hops out as Chris say closing the trunk and I notice him putting something in his jacket pocket "Hey, boys." 

He walks to the driver side of Jackson's Porche and opens the door. He turns the key, and the car starts. I squint my eyes giving a look before hiding it as he says, "Told you I knew a few things about cars." 

I look at Scott with my eyes then back to Chris as the Porche door is shut and he walks away to his car. Once he drives away Jackson sighs then asks suddenly angry as I get out to go over to them "What, are you following me, now?" 

Scott answers "Yes, you stupid freaking idiot. You almost gave away everything, right there." Jackson asks as I stand beside Scott "What are you talking about?" 

Scott says looking at me then Jackson "He thinks you're the second beta." Jackson asks "What?" Scott yells hitting the jeep "He thinks you're me!" 

I say gesturing my hand to the jeep thinking "seriously Scott the jeep, come on I thought I helped you with anger but seems we need another lesson "Dude, my jeep." 

Scott continues "I can hear your heart beating from a mile away . . . literally! Now he thinks that there's something wrong, and now I have to keep an eye on you, so he doesn't kill you too!" 

After he says that he starts towards the jeep and I jump at him saying stressfully "Oohhh whoa Okay, okay, okay, how about we step away from Stiles' Jeep." 

I let him go feeling my own anger, but I hide it knowing full well my eyes show the anger underneath but not glowing. 

Jackson then opens his big mouth making me once again think about why we care "This is your problem, not mine, okay? I didn't say anything, which means you're the one that's gonna get me killed." 

He then shoves Scott back hitting the jeep as he says "Okay, this is your fault." I then say as Scott shoves Jackson "Can we stop hitting my jeep?" 

I then step in not wanting them to kill one other as the only one that has a reason to kill one or the other is me and I tell them "Yo, all right, yo, guys, stop. All right?" 

As Scott continues, I look at them "When they come after you, I won't be able to protect you. I can't protect anyone." 

Scott then looks at me as I realize why but I still ask, "Why are you looking at me?" Jackson then says "You know, now you have to do it. Get me what I want, and I will be fine protecting myself." 

Scott says still trying to get him to understand "No, you won't! Just trust me. All it does is make things worse." Jackson then tells him "Oh, yeah, really? You can hear anything you want and run faster than humanly possible. Sounds like a real hardship, McCall." 

Scott continues "Yeah, I can run really fast now . . . Except half the time, I'm running away from people trying to kill me! And I can hear things like . . .
