Chapter 2: First Line

~~Season 1 Episode 2: Second Chance at First Line~~

~~Stiles~~

I walk into the locker room going to my locker as I notice Scott and ask, "Did you apologize to Allison?" Scott answers "Yeah." 

I then ask "Is she giving you a second chance or . . ." He answers again "Yeah." I then say with glee "Yeah! All right. So, everything's good." 

Scott then says "No." I then say questioningly "No?" Scott explains in between breathes as I hear his heart starting to beat faster as well as his pulse. 

I realize whatever he's talking about is obviously freaking him out "Remember . . . The hunters. Her dad is one of 'em." I'm shocked and say, "Her dad?" 

Scott continues saying "Shot me . . ." I interrupt a bit not getting over the fact that he said Allison's dad is a hunter "Allison's father?" 

He finishes saying "With a crossbow." Me not being helpful says it again "Allison's father . . ." Scott yells interrupting me "Yes! Her father! Oh, my God." 

I can tell he's on a verge of a freak out, so I say "No, Scott. Snap back. You, okay? Hey, all right? He didn't recognize you, right?" 

Scott stumbles "No. N . . . no. I don't think so." I then ask, "Does she know about him?" Scott replies and he starts to freak out again "Oh, yeah. I don't know. What if she does? This is gonna kill me, man." 

I then freak a little before thinking quick and suggesting "Okay, just focus on lacrosse. Okay, here, Scott. Take this. Take this, and focus on lacrosse for now, okay? That's all you gotta do, yeah?" Scott answers with "Lacrosse." 

I pat his should as I say, "Here we go!" We go to the field as Coach yells "Let's go! One - on - one from up top! Jackson! Take a long stick today. Atta boy. That's how you do it! Greenberg, take a lap. Let's go. Faster, Greenberg! Let's go. McCall, what are you waiting for? Let's go." 

Scott is then shoved back, and he falls to the ground. Scott gets up as coach goes over saying "Hey, McCall. Hey, McCall!" 

I then hear Jackson taunt Scott as he walks away "You sure you still want to be first line, McCall?" I then hear Coach as he also taunts Scott, and I can hear his heartbeat rising as well as his pulse "My . . . My grandmother can move faster than that. And she's dead. You think you can move faster than the . . . lifeless corpse of my dead grandmother?" 

Scott answers "Yes, coach." Coach repeats and I know his fangs are out "I can't hear you." Scott answers through his fangs "Yes, coach." 

Coach then says, "Then do it again." Scott then runs over and as he gets in front of me Coach says "McCall's gonna do it again! McCall's gonna do it again! Let's go!" 

I see Scott fall a little way from Jackson and I run over to him as he remains hunched over asking "Scott? Scott, you, okay?" Scott then answers "I can't control it, Stiles. It's happening." 

I say in complete shock, worry and horror as I help him up to get him away from the field "What? Right here? Now? Come on, get up. Come on. Come on." 

As we enter the locker room, I tell him "Come on, here we go. There. That's it. You, okay? Scott, you, okay?" Scott then yells out fangs and glowing eyes "Get away from me!" 

I jump back and run from Scott thinking how stupid this is. I'm running when I could easily take him, but don't want to risk him getting hurt or worse. 

I also don't want to risk him finding out before the time is right and so I run around before I grab the fire extinguisher and blast him with it. I hide behind the wall when "Stiles . . . What happened?"
