I watched as he struggled to adjust my bike into the trunk of his pick-up truck with my fingers rubbing my temple slowly to process his information and whatever violence that just happened. He said leaving my apartment immediately was the only way I could keep myself safe and now he was complaining that my properties were too much for his truck.

"Remind me why I offered to help you again?" he grunted, wiping off the sweat on his forehead and dusting off his hands on his black pair of jeans.

"That, you haven't told me yet, whatever your name is." I threw my last box into the backseat. I just hoped my neighbors wouldn't freak out if they stumbled on an empty room of mine with an unconscious man laying peacefully on my bed.

"It's Ruan."

"Right."

"So...is that all?" he asked, and I nodded. We both stood, awkwardly staring at each other and probably wondering what to do next.

"You do realize some guys might be after you..." he trailed off and I cleared my throat and hopped right into the front seat of his truck. The men he froze had melted and turned to water. His super power was useful.

I know you're probably wondering....why the hell am I not screaming...or probably running away...or I don't know, not behaving shocked to see a guy with a super power in front of me? Maybe it's because I've died so many times to know that life is full weird lame ass shit which I'm one of. And if you're not wondering anything then I guess I have nothing to say to you.

"Why are you picking their guns?" I watched with my arms folded as he struggled to get the guns to fit into the trunk. He ignored my question and got into the driver's seat while I rolled my eyes.

I stared at the apartment building one more time, through the side mirror until it was out of my sight and sat up with my legs crossed on the seat beneath me.

"Very unladylike." he commented and I gave him a wide toothed smile while drumming my fingers on my thighs. I needed to hear his own side of the story. How he knew me and why he fucking stalked me all the way from school.

"I'll start from the origin." he announced after making a u-turn to a much smoother road. He just fucking read my mind.

"My mom saved Scotland from her evil alien father and she thought she lost her powers after that but she didn't. Turns out some secret government was after her so her and my dad moved here." he started and I tilted my head to the side.
