"Are you hurt?" he looked up at me, eyes roaming my body and I stared in disbelief. What a fucking idiot.
"I literally should be the one asking that." I scolded and he laughed and hissed when he was reminded of the bullet in his arm.
"Do you know how to remove a bullet?" he asked and I shook my head no to his disappointment. He sighed and reached into his pocket for his phone.
I watched as he struggled in guilt and tore off the right hand of my hoodie to tie shut the blood that kept pouring out of the black hole. He opened a weird Uber app and requested for a ride.
I sat on the ground in awkwardness as he froze his arm through the torn hoodie wishing he had immortality powers too.
"What were you thinking?" he asked and my eyes roamed everywhere but his face.
I stared down at the ground, unable to tell him how weak and stupid I was. It was totally cowardly of me to heal the pain of my father's death with my powers but there was no way I'd mourn him like most people. I was the cause of my parents' death, I wasn't worth the mourning.
"I'm here." he murmured and I blinked at him. "You can talk to me or not, but I'm here." I smiled and he looked at me like there was something in me worth looking at.
And just before I was about to say something to spoil the mood, a loud honk shook me and I turned around to see a dark car beside us.
"You know you can always call me personally sir, I'll always be here for you." the man's Indian accent confused me as we walked towards the vehicle.
"I'll always pay you professionally for your help Dit." Ruan sighed softly in the backseat and I couldn't help but narrow my eyes at the Dopinder-Deadpool vibe they gave off.
"Hi!" he waved excitedly at me and I waved back with an awkward whisper. I looked out at the trees and huge buildings he drove past, wondering if Alice and Vinnie were okay.
"We should have thought this through." I heard Ruan say to himself and I rolled my eyes. If there was any award given to the worse superpower group in the world we'd be at the back of the line because that's how stupid we are.
"Home sweet home." Dit sang and I got down and helped Ruan out of the car too. We watched him drive away before we got into the house.
