Yep, I was right. Dean was back to normal, ignoring me and being rude. Well, at least he has a good and kind side, that's what I know. There's still some hope for him.
Anyway, we have some work to do. yesterday, before I went to bed, Federico told me he had something to ask me. So right now I'm on my way to his office, which is quite far away from our cabin.
I finally got there and nocked on the door, slightly opening it. I looked inside and Federico wasn't here. I invited myself in and stepped inside, wondering around. His walls were filled with diplomacy's and pictures of the camp. One picture in particular caught my attention. It was a picture of four friends, two girls and two boys. It looked quite old. The boy on the far left looked a lot like Federico. Underneath that photo it said the names of the people there.
"Federico Marquez, Caroline Hudges, Jacob Mines, Sandra Stainfield"
Wait a second. Is that... Caroline? From the note Dean stole from my bathroom? And Jacob, that must be the 'j' name, of the person writing it.
-"Brooke Harper" I heard Federico say right behind me, pulling me into a hug and then guiding me to the couch. "So, how's everything?" He asked, with a smile that never left his face.
-"Yeah. Hey, one question, if you don't mind me asking. Who are Caroline Hudges and Jacob Mines?" I questioned. His smile slowly faded from his face making me regret those words coming from my mouth.
-"Some old friends, who tragically died in an accident"
-"If you don't mind me asking, what happend to them?"
-"Well, about 30 years ago, we all came to this camp, looking for fun and entretainment" I stayed silent, letting him continue,"Caroline and Jacob fell in love until something tragic happend. Caroline got into a car accident and Jacob couldn't find her anywhere. Jacob started placing millions of notes all around this camp, for Caroline to find if she ever came back. But she didn't. After a few weeks, Jacob comitted suicide because he couldn't bare the feeling of loss and grief in his heart."
I stayed silent for a long 30 seconds. Looking at the picture. I couldn't help but feel pity for them, they must've been really good friends. Suddenly, my mind came up with another stupid question.
-"And Sandra Stainfield? Was she your old love too?"
-"Oh no, she was a bitch, she was a very bad friend." He said, laughing at the memory, then he looked at me. "But we still loved her anyways"
-"What happend to her?"
-"She... she left after the incident of Jacob and Caroline, and we never saw her again" I suddenly started feeling his emotion, because that is what I felt when my mum left us. When she died. 3 Days before mum died she had disappeared. No one saw her anywhere.
We spent the rest of this moment talking about stuff and Federico asked me to send to Dean's cabin some bed sheets. He gave me some for my room too, so I took them and left. Whilst I was walking up to our cabin, I got my phone out and typed Mona's number.
-"Hey stranger" I just realised how much I had missed her. I miss talking to her about everything.
-"Hey dumbass"
-"Language please" She ordered, imitating a british accent. And she did it horribly, that's why I started to laugh hard. "Stop laughing Brooke, why did you call me? Did you already waste the package I gave you?"
-"No, I didn't even start using it." I said, giggling. On my way to the cabin, I waved to a few people on my way, as I called Monique. "You know, I'm starting to make a lot of friends here" I told her, smiling in my proudness.
-"Pity, I would have already used half the package" She stated, making me laugh even more.
-"Mona, how I missed you" I sarcastically said, leaving her silent for a few minutes before she sarcastically responded, 'hahaha'. I rolled my eyes and started opening the cabin door, putting my phone on my shoulder, fixed to my jaw, not letting it fall. "Hey um Mona?"
-"yeah?"
-"I- I met this guy an-"
-"TELL ME, SPILL THE TEA!" She yelled across the phone, causing me to laugh, again.
-"I was going to, anyway, as I was saying- He is confusing me a lot right now, you know? I mean, he's goregous and all, but he is also very rude to me"
-"Listen, let me give you a very valuable piece of advice." I stayed silent to let her continue, "Okay, well. If you are having mixed feelings of him right now, I think you should keep talking to him or something. You should give him a chance, maybe he can change? I mean, you got there like, how long ago, 2 weeks? Give him time. You'll see how he changes. Just stick around to him some more."
-"But Mona, I don't think he-"
-"Stop trying to confuse yourself more, Brooklyn Harper! Just give him a fucking chance, you'll see."
-"Alright" I responded, hanging up the phone. I got inside the cabin and noticed only Scarlett there. "Hey girl, how's it going?" I asked, smiling. I then placed the box of bed sheets on our bed and started taking them out.
-"I think I like Jonah" She admitted, making me stop doing what I was doing. I started jumping up and down in exitment as I sat down next to her, geturing her to proceed. "I mean, he's very kind, and he is caring, cute, attentive, and attractive."
-"Oh my god oh my god oh my goddddd! Ahhhhh!" I squealed, jumping onto her as she laughed.
The next few moments we had spent talking about her and her opinions about Jonah. She seemed really glad and exited about telling me all this. Jonah is a good guy and Scarlett deserves this. I am really happy for Scarlett. At least she found someone who treats her right.
Listen to Monique, Brooke. For god's sake, give him time. You have three months to have fun! You can't just fall for someone in 5 seconds!
