Savannah's P.o.V
I never thought falling would be so easy. It was painless and simple, almost as if I was simply breathing. Everyone had always said falling was like burning to death, the pain was everywhere and it was so unbearable you couldn't even scream. Of course, they didn't really know, angels who've fallen don't like discussing their time on Earth. But still, everyone believes the rumors, simply out of fear alone.
Yet here I was, falling without a real care in the world, and not a single ounce of pain. There was hardly any noise, aside from the air hitting my wings. A part of me wanted to stay like this, my eyes closed, and hair flowing. But another part wanted to touch the ground and see new things.
It won't be much longer until I reach the ground. I've probably been falling for around an hour now. I won't die from the impact like a human, I would come out unscratched, but different. I wouldn't be Savannah, the sixteen-year-old angel I've known my entire life. I'd be Savannah, the sixteen-year-old human. It would be a lot easier to just stay like this, at least here I know what to expect, I thought. We aren't exiled when we fall, nothing ever causes it to happen.
Some say it's the wrong place at the wrong time, others say it's our destiny. I can't really tell you whether they're right or wrong though, one second I was talking to my small group of friends and the next, well I'm currently living it. At first, I was scared, terrified actually, but now I'm calm. It's odd, but I don't really care that I'm falling anymore.
No one knows exactly what humans are like, except for the few angels that have fallen and managed to somehow be rescued or the other kind of angels. I have to act like a human would, but I don't know how. I mean it's not something we're taught, it's so rare for an angel to fall that the ones who have probably didn't even tell the elders how they survived. We all know what's on Earth. Like the animals and nature. But we have no knowledge on how humans act, supposedly they're unpredictable. As far as I'm aware no human has really found out about us, they assume, but they aren't positive. Some of us are as old as time itself and others have only been around for about a decade like myself.
I finally decided to open my eyes to my current surroundings, it's not like I could prepare myself much more, I've got to be closer now, I thought as flashes of greens, browns, and grays passed me. My arm hit something and it went down with me, a sudden chill began creeping up my skin and I heard a soft thud, I looked around to see that I was touching the ground. Pine needles poked my back and the cold morning dew dampened my dress. A deer stood nearby, startled by my sudden appearance but yet it stayed and looked at me as if it were studying me, before turning and trotting away. My hair was wild from the wind and my dress was ripped in several places but I was in one piece, just as I had hoped. I've finally made it.
