Savannah's P.o.V
"Who's this boy?" I asked looking at Alex.
"Alex's best friend Jace, they've known each other forever," However it was Lia who spoke, seeing as though Alex was in no condition to speak. He fell down on his hands and knees next to Jace and began to break down.
I nodded then walked over to Jace and Alex, "You're going to have to carry him inside, it's not safe out here Alex. The sun is going down and we don't know if it can leave the woods yet," he looked up at me with red eyes before he began to shake. "I can help him you know, I know how."
Once I said that Alex picked him up with a slight struggle and walked inside, not looking back at Lia or myself. "He means a lot to Alex, what do you need to heal whatever's wrong with Jace? I'll get whatever it takes," Lia said.
"Angels can heal the wounded, as long as it's not our self that is. I'll just need time and some water," I answered, "I've only had to heal an angel once before, so it might take me longer. Alex doesn't need to know this though."
"I agree with you there, he hasn't broken down like that in ages, seeing him that upset ran shivers down my spine," she replied and I nodded, and ran inside the house.
"Alex, where are you guys?" I asked while getting a bowl and filling it with water and a sponge.
"We're upstairs, i-in my room," he said hiccuping.
I continued to fill the bowl with water and slowly made my way up the stairs, not spilling a drop of it. "Alright," I called out, "I'm coming."
"I think he's getting worse," Alex said, not looking too good himself.
"So are you, now go get something to eat before you faint. Or else we'll have two sick boys on our hands," I replied shooing him off towards the stairs.
He was hesitant to leave his friend's side, like he was debating whether or not to leave and trust me alone with him. I thought I'd have to reassure him but he hung his head low and walked down towards the kitchen. I sighed and got to work on his ankle, once I got this healed Jace would wake up and be just fine.
The bite of a magical being is so powerful it can do many things to you, even another magical being could be driven mad, or put into a coma. But the bite of a magical creature gone bad could be life threatening at times. Jace got lucky the thing didn't break though skin. But this could strengthen his ability with it, seeing it was rare enough but now if anything else Jace would probably have other connections to it.
"Jace, I know you can't talk back. But you can hear me, you'll be fine in the morning once this bite is healed," I said covering it in water and putting my hand over it. A slight glow covering his ankle from my hand and I could already see the skin mending itself. It might actually take less time then I thought because it was only swollen and it had dark bruising, the bruising would take up to twenty minutes at most.
Then all we'd have to do is wait until morning, he'd be fine then. But it has to be healed before that can happen, I'm probably only in about five minutes and the bruising is no longer black, but a purple. The ankle might actually be twisted but there's no swelling so far.
Lia came upstairs and sat down on the floor watching, "How bad is he? I called his mom and said he wanted to spend the night, she was fine with it so we have a cover story."
"It's not as bad as I thought, Jace got lucky. That thing is dangerous, it could kill all of us and feel no remorse. I think I know what is, but we'll need Jace to draw what he saw to know for sure," I answered.
"How long until he wakes up?" She wondered.
"He'll wake up sometime around early morning to late afternoon. If we're lucky he's a good drawer," I mumbled.
"He is," Alex said, standing in the door frame. I didn't even know he was up here and apparently neither did Lia because we both jumped. I nearly lost my focus on Jace's wound.
"Good, at least one thing is going right," I said.
Alex opened his mouth to say something but closed it, Lia instead asked, "What if he doesn't want to draw what he saw? He might not even remember what happened."
"He will. Trust me, and to answer the drawing question if he's not willing to draw it we might as well be dead," I stated. "We wouldn't know what to expect out there, how to beat it. I know it's a lot to ask from him but it's the only thing we have."
Lia sighed then went over to Alex, who was once again crying. "He'll be fine, Savannah knows what she's doing. You want to come help me turn the lights on downstairs?"
He shook his head but followed anyways, the sun was now barely visible meaning we were stuck inside for the night. "Your friend's a tough guy," I whispered to Jace, "but he's been through a lot, I can sense it. It may not have been the most recent event but he carries a burden with him."
I wasn't expecting an answer from him but I felt like talking, "He actually seems familiar , I think I saw him in the woods earlier today, we both got scratched. He's pretty cute, and I think I'll have to heal his cut for him too. I stopped whatever was out there Jace, I don't know how, I think I fought it. I couldn't weaken it enough though and it attacked us. The coward ran off after that,\" I stopped when I saw his hand move. "Jace? Alex come over here, Jace just moved."
I could hear him running up the stairs, was he skipping some? He ran into his room and looked over at Jace, who's hand was now clenched, "How long until you're done healing him?" Alex panted.
"I am done, now we just need to wait. Has there been any sign of the thing?" I asked.
"No, we don't think it can leave the woods, but Jace would have to tell us that," he said sighing.
I nodded, "Looks like we're at a stand point then."
