"Have you tried these sheets!?" Sandra yelled from her room. "Why did mom and dad never come here?!"
I knew they had their reasons. But part of me thinks because they didn't want to want to stay. They claimed that if a pack already has good leadership, the Alpha will mess that up. This pack definitely had good leadership. I walked out of my bedroom to survey the rest of the suite. I guess Cheryl and Beta Marc stepped out. There was a key left on the desk. I can hear Sandra moaning in the other room.
"Have you seen your bath tub?!" I ignore her and look for Caleb. He's crawling around next to a wall. They even put child safety plugs. There were two baskets on the kitchen table. One was filled with more toys and the other had cookies in them. There was a note.

Alpha,
Just a little something extra to feel like home. If you need anything, send a note to Cheryl and I'll get it for you.

Happy to serve,
Calla

I opened the cookies and grabbed one. They had a hint of that smell I'm addicted to. I took a bite. I don't think I've never eaten anything better. When I leave, I may ask for Calla to come with me so I can have these cookies when I return home. That's if I have it in me to leave. With Caleb occupied, I brought my suit cases to my room to unpack.
I finally finished and went to the kitchen to grab more cookies. Sandra was sitting at the table eating one after another.
"What are you doing?!" I chastised.
"What do you mean what am I doing? These are amazing."
"Don't eat them all!"
"Chill, there are like, 50 in the basket." She looked. "Ok. Maybe 20. This Calla chick can make us some more."
"That's not the point! Those are mine."
She rolled her eyes. "Whatever, Alpha... what are you doing? What's up with that?" She pointed to the teddy bear I tucked into my belt.
"Nothing. I just like the smell of it."
"Ok. Weirdo." Sandra snickered and shoved the basket of cookies my way and began to write a note. "I'm asking for more cookies since you are all possessive and stuff."
"Can you watch Caleb until super, I'm going to go on a run."
"Of course!"
Before I left the room, I felt conflicted in leaving the teddy bear there. I desired to take it with me. But that was crazy, right? I opted on hiding the bear in the back of a dresser in case Sandra saw it and decided to give it to Caleb.

I wasn't sure how the pack felt about open nudity so I kept my clothes on and headed to the tree line. I saw several pack members on the way, the bowed or showed their neck in respect. It is the shifter way, but it still memorized me how as soon as Alpha was passed onto me, there was a magical wave of respect that came over my pack members. They are compelled to submit. I stripped off my clothes, placed them on a stump and shifted. It's been almost a week since I've been on a run. I loved the exhilaration of those first few minutes after the shift. The stronger senses. The feeling of the form, even being on all fours. It's like a weight bearing on my back I never knew was there was finally lifted and the world's colors decided to become more vibrant. I could feel the pack boundaries and was happy it was miles of land and forest. I had no idea where I was going, but this was exhilarating. I found a few creeks, waterholes, different paths with many smells to them. It was probably a couple hours before I decided to turn back around to the pack house. I found the main road and followed it. But on the main road, that smell I became so fond of lingered in the air. There was this turn off on which the smell came from. Without thinking, I took it and followed. It wasn't a long road. I passed a few pack member houses. The one at the end was larger than most. But before I reached it, the smell trailed off to this pathway that led to a very small building. A shed? A cottage? I looked like someone lived there. This overwhelming feeling came over me to want to live there myself.
Myself, as a wolf ran around the building and paced. The smell was very strong coming from this shed. Maybe the wolf that lived there make soaps or candles. I inhaled again. The smell took me back. It wasn't a wolf that belongs to the shed, but a human.
A human on pack lands. How did this happen? I quickly ran back to the pack house. I'm sure it's getting close to super time. I haven't mind linked here yet.
"Marc, I need to speak with you urgently. Where are you?" I connected. Whether he will acknowledge me is another thing.
"I'm in the office? Anyone can direct you there." His voice in my mind betrayed no worry.
"I'll be there in a few." I closed the link.
