Chapter 2

For clarification:

Since Nya went missing all the adventures of the Ninja basically took place without her or didn't take place like the season with morro.
All of the Ninja are single

Previously on the blue mask:

Kai did some catching up with Maya and Ray. That was also where they found out that Nya went missing awhile ago.

Harumi and Vania snuck out of the palace of secrets and went to restaurant we're they met Skylor. But on their way back home, they got caught by Hutchins

Vania's POV

"You can explain that to them tomorrow. Now please go to your rooms."
"Of course, Hutchins." Harumi and I both nod and walk to her room quickly. Normally I sleep in the guests room, but we would always do our late night gossips in Harumi's room.

When we arrived in her room, I felt very anxious because I was always 'daddy's little girl' but this time I didn't know what my dad would do when he finds out, I snuck out. I don't want to disappoint him.

The room was dead silent until I decided to speak up. I tried to use my positive thinking to lighten things up.

"Atleast we made a new friend." I say awkwardly

"Yeahh... i guess." Harumi sighed

"I think that's pretty cool considering how we were never allowed to make friends. Don't ya think?"

I felt like Harumi was somewhere I her deep thoughts since she didn't even answer. She tended to become very quiet from one moment to another. I didn't mind, I like her for the way she is(not a ship).

I even gave her the nickname 'quiet one'. We often make jokes about it but right now we both couldn't close an eye.
I still tried to sleep though and managed to catch a couple of Z's.

No POV

*the next morning*

When Vania and Harumi woke up, they were immediately called the throne room.
Waiting for them there were Vangelis, the emperor and empress and Hutchins

"Daughter," the emperor started in an annoyed voice nicee

"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING. SNEAKING OUT AT THAT TIME IN- IN THIS DANGEROUS WORLD. WHAT IF YOU WERE KIDNAPPED OR RAPED-" Vangelis interrupts.

"Vangelis, please calm down." The emperor rolled his eye's. Vania just looks down to the floor.
"What I was going to say is: you are a princess, young lady. You cannot go around and hang out with those thugs. The whole palace was worried about you."

"I am sorry, father. This will not repeat itself." Harumi also looks down while apologizing.

"It better not."

Just as the princesses were about to go the empress told them to stay

"There's something else... my Darlings you both know you are going to step into our footsteps right. And that of course doesn't happen from one day to another. But neither does the knowledge to that."

"Get to the point." Harumi spat in disrespect. She could talk like this to her mother but not to her dad. She also saw her Dad glaring at her from the corner of her eye.

"You guys will from now on be involved in all of the missions we have. Your training to become the rulers in ninjago starts tomorrow. You are dismissed."

The two girls just stood there in shock. Why did they have to start so soon? They just walked to Harumi's room and started questioning their lives.

"I don't understand. I am literally sure that my parents did not start this whole 'rulers of ninjago' business at my age." Harumi complains
"I can't go out to a restaurant, but they want me to rule over Ninjago city?!"

"I meaaan... the earlier the better I guess."

"Early as in tomorrow?" Harumi asks sarcastically.

Vania shrugs.

"What's wrong. You seem distant."

"Something's not right. First we're not allowed to go out and then one days to another we're supposed to train to be the next rulers of ninjago. There's definitely some weird reason behind that"

"I know it feels off, but I think I know why. You know when you are a very powerful person... politically many people love you, but enough hate you."

"I see where you are going. You can't make everybody happy with one decision"

"Yess and those people who hate you often wanna kill you soo...."

Then it hit her. Both girls looked at each other in shock.

"W- what if-"

"Don't say it." Harumi puts her hand over Vania's mouth. "Don't."
She then removed her hand as she saw a tear rolling down.

"Vania i want you to promise that whatever happens, we will always look after each other, o-okay?" She sniffed

"I promise." Vania manages to get out of her mouth before completely bursting into tears.

Both Vania's and Harumi's parent are very strict, but the girls still love them over everything. Especially Vania values her father alot, since her mother didn't survive her birth. She didn't even get to know her, but she saw pictures on which her father looks much happier. Vania looked alot like her mother.

*at the monastery*

"G'bye mom and dad." Kai called afters his parents that were walking out the big monastery door.

Before Maya and Ray left they had a really deep talk with their son. It was very emotional. Kai's face still had traces of tears.

"Heya, buddy. How're you doing?" Cole comes into the courtyard with Lloyd and then putting his hand on Kai's shoulder.

"I'm, heh, fine." He lied sniffing. In reality he was completely down and depressed. He felt guilty abouts Nya's disappearing.

"You don't have to lie to us." Lloyd reassures him

"Nah, I'm totally fine bro. But thanks"

Knowing he was lying to them, he gave in because he didn't want to put more pressure on him
" 'Kay, but in case you change your mind, you know were we'll be." And with that they went in.

"Yeah, I know were you'll be. I know."
Kai responded late, looking into the sky.

He didn't go inside with the others, he was just there... standing... feeling the wind blow through his hair and on his face, making it feel cold due all the crying.

He felt like just screaming so he did. He screamed on the top of his lungs and then fell onto his knees, cupping his face in his hands in pain.

The pain of loss.

He didn't know he was being watched by the others through one of the monastery windows.

"Master Wu, i- is he going to be ok?" Jay asked worriedly.
"Yes, he just has to find his inner peace. All of you do"

Kai wasn't the only one affected by Nya's disappearing. Jay never got the chance to meet her again. I really liked her. Lloyd doesn't know her but feels as guilty as Kai. If it wasn't for his father, this would have never happened. Cole and Zane are very sensitive when it comes to their friends. They're trying their best to make everybody happy, what can be very exhausting. Mentally and physically.

Additional Ninja duty makes it even worse. All these super villains were very tough. What they didn't know us that the toughest ones are just to come
