The Professor of Combat Studies sat at her desk on the night of Sunday, May 18th, xx16. Her computer was idly open, it's light coupled with the broken moon in the sky dimly illuminating Glynda Goodwitch's dark office.
Glynda: . . .
And then it became May 19th.
Glynda: Team RWBY. . . I can't imagine that they'd fail the first objective. They had to have reached one of the ruins by now.
She couldn't help but feel as though something was wrong.

The Forever Fall - Day 4 - Monday
The sun had yet to rise, and Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao-Long were resting high in the trees, hidden by the bleeding leaves of the forest. Luck had saved them from coming across Grimm, but they had dismantled the few members of the White Fang they'd come across.
And right now, a patrol was passing right beneath their feet.
Yang: . . . (Sighs) Are they gone?
Blake: Almost.
A few moments later, they're were gone.
Yang: That was too close!
Blake: We're running into them more frequently now. We need to be careful. . .
Yang: Right, stick to trees, got it.
That being said, they continued eastward, hopping from tree to tree and keeping out of sight. The blond glanced to her partner, pursing her lips and letting out a low breath. The Cat Faunus easily noticed, slowing her pace and letting Yang catch up to her.
Blake: What is it?
Yang: Nothing. It's-
Blake: Yang. . . Please.
Yang: . . . I get why you didn't tell us about the White Fang, but why did you hide being a faunus? You know none of us would've judged you for it. . .
Blake: . . .
Yang: And as Weissy as Ice Queen is, you know she wouldn't have either.
They came to a stop, standing on crossing branches from separate trees. The dark fog made it nearly impossible for the blond to see anything aside from the glow of Blake's amber eyes. . . but the Black Cat could clearly see everything about Yang through the red mist. . .
Blake: (Whispers) Just because you would accept what I am, doesn't mean everyone will.
Yang: Blake, what we, what humans think, none of that matters. . . If you hide behind that bow, then the people who do oppress you win.
Blake: . . . It's not that easy, Yang. It's never that easy.
To her shock, the Yellow Dragon stepped onto her branch, closing the distance between them and allowing herself to truly see the trembling Blake.
Yang: But you have to start somewhere. . . Why not start with me?
Blake: . . .
She grasped the ends of her bow and pulled, willfully revealing her ears for the first time in a very long time.
Yang: (Smiles) That wasn't so bad, now was it?
Blake: . . . Let's get going. (Smiles) I doubt we'll beat Ruby and Weiss to the last ruin, but we can try.
Yang: Let's do it!
