A quiet tune played, echoing throughout the dark room. It was loud enough to wake Moon Lumos, the boy's amethyst eyes glimmering as the sunlight peered into his dorm. He had always been an early riser on school nights, yet for the first time in a long time. . . he'd slept until his alarm went off.
Violet let out a soft groan as his head pulsed with pain, sluggishly climbing out of bed and standing in the split shadow of the window curtains. Everything felt heavy, the slightest flex of his muscles draining him, even dragging his fingers across the light switch.
Wincing as the dorm came to life, Moon stumbled into the lounge, Luna forgotten on her mount. The door to the bathroom creaked open, the lights flickering on as the ravennette buckled over the sink, a violent cough tearing through his throat. Spit dropping into the drain, Moon shakily lifted his head and met his own gaze in the mirror. . .
Labored breaths fogged the glass, the boy's sickly, flushed face reflecting off it. His black tank-top was soaked in sweat, trying to stick to his skin as Violet peeled it off. Moon threw the shirt aside, only for his body to feel twice as heavy. His eyes tried to pull themselves closed as he dizzily caught himself on the wall.
It was as if gravity itself multiplied with every step he took, the teen collapsing onto the couch. His face crashed onto a pillow, and in an instant. . . Moon was fast asleep.

The Atlesian Transfer Student stood on stage, a bubbly smile on her face as she introduced herself to the First Year's Grimm Studies Class. Professor Port let out a boisterous laugh from the podium.
Port: Do treat our new transfer student well. She'll be with us for quite some time. Now, have a seat Miss.
Penny: Yes, sir!
The redhead scanned the rows of seats, hoping to spot the first friend she'd made at Beacon. . . only to see that Moon was nowhere to be found.
Ruby: Penny! Up here!
Viridian eyes flickered to the Red Reaper and her team, Ruby enthusiastically waving her over. Penny excitedly skipped up the aisle and occupied the seat right by RWBY's leader.
Penny: Good-morning, Friend Ruby! Friend Weiss! Friend Blake! Friend Yang!
