A couple hours have gone by and Link is still sat on Zelda's couch, playing Mario kart, entirely unaware of the high school girl having woken up and watching him play.
It's not rare for Link to sleep over for the night every once in a while but it still startled Zelda to see him casually break into her house to play his favorite game when she woke up.

"Hey, Mr. Do you come here often?" The girl can't help but giggle, she's not the best at playing these kinds of games.

With a smirk and a chuckle, Link responds, though slightly startled by the sudden conversing.

"Meh, sometimes. It's gotten rather old though, don't you think? I mean, this house is nice and all but I wouldn't complain about some maid or butler coming around to spruce the place up. It's gotten pretty messy, eh?"

This makes Zelda blush. The sink is pilled with dirty dishes, the counter covered with leftover Chinese takeout, the floors sticky and dusty. Sure, her house is messy, but she's trying her best with juggling her school life and living alone. Another thing she needs Link's help with.

"Sorry, Zel but this is kind of bothering me actually. We seriously need to clean this place up. You're going to attract mice or something." Link shudders at the thought. "Alright, let's get to work."

"But do we seriously seriously have to clean up?" The blonde haired girl groans, she's always hated tidying up. "Getting a maid really isn't a bad idea, don't ya think?"

"Yes, we seriously seriously need to clean the place. And as nice as it would be to have a maid, we both know neither of us could afford something like that." The boy starts chuckling again. Knowing Zelda has probably been the happiest time of his life, as he had never really been known for laughing much. "Get off your butt and wash the plates in the sink. The cheapest way to get it done is to do it yourself."

"That's terrible advice..." Though through all the complaints, she still can't help but smile, too small for the boy across the room to see, but big enough for Zelda to notice and instantly smother. "Guess we'll have to get through this sooner or later." The girl starts walking over to the sink to do the dishes but hesitates when she gets closer to her best friend. "Thanks for helping, Link."

Before Zelda could hurry away like she always did in these kinds of situations, Link grabbed her arm and turned her around before lightly kissing the back of her hand.

"Don't mention it, Zel. That's what best friends are for, right?" And then Link (though he doesn't want to) is the one to walk away.
