As the night went on, the tension in the room slowly disappeared. I had come to learn that the two guys from this morning's names were Xander and Dame. They were Slaters Capos.
I had also come to know who Prim's bodyguard, Rain, was. Apparently he had just come back from a mission and that's why he wasn't around when we met. But when he is here, he never leaves her alone. I noticed the side glances they gave each other and the way Rain gave Prim more distance when Slater would turn their way.
"So, Rain huh?" I whisper in Prim's ear.
At the mention of his name he looks up and glares at us. Guess I wasn't being quiet enough.
"No, I have no clue what youre talking about." Prim said, throwing me a sly wink.
"Mhm, I believe you." I said, throwing her one back.
She pulls down the strap of her dress to show me a hickey, a fresh one at that. I gasp and push her away from me when I notice it.
"You whore!" My mouth, smiling.
She puts her finger to her mouth, telling me to be quiet.
"Does your dad know?" I ask.
She shakes her head no.
"Does Slater?" I ask.
Her face goes white and she aggressively shakes her head.
"They have... a bad history with one another." she whispers, coming close to me this time.
My eyebrows furrowed together and she glanced behind me, probably to check if Slater was looking. Rain couldn't hear us due to how loud the music was around us, and due to the fact he had backed up from where he was earlier.
"Rain used to be Slater's underboss, but... something happened. Something really bad." she whispered in my ear.
When Slater realizes how close Prim is to me, he stops the conversation he was in. He pulls the back of my dress, dragging me to him and away from her. I return to my original position and Prim returns to hers, on the opposite side of the couch.
I look up at Slater and see him glance at Rain. Just long enough for it to be known Slater didn't like him, but he wasn't going to beat his ass over it. My eyebrows furrowed together again as Slater looked down at me.
I break eye contact when four girls enter the room, all dressed like strippers. They approach each man and wait to either be dismissed, or to be accepted.
Xander and Dame accept the girls, pushing the old ones off of their laps. Rain dismisses the girl that went over to him and immediately looks at Prim.
Gross.
I look at Slater as the girl approaches him with a sway in her hips, her eyes glancing over me. In a quick movement, I put my hand on his knee. More specifically, the hand with my ring on it.
The girl does a double take and continues to walk, but she doesn't stop at us. Instead she walks behind us, then to the side of us. She meets with the other girls who are now with Xander and Dame, and starts to entertain them.
I remove my hand from his knee and place my arms on my chest.
"Didn't know you were the jealous type." He says as he leans down to talk in my ear.
"I'm not jealous, idiot. I'm just not about to sit here and watch you cheat. I have to listen to it at home, don't I?" I replied.
He smirks and he puts the glass of liquor he was drinking on the table in the middle of the room.
