Chapter 25

By the time Dan and the twelve genin got to the village gates they were covered in flowers.

"Well it's nice to know the villagers have confidence in the twelve of you," Dan said making the genin blush.

They stood at the gate and tried to remove the flower petals on their clothes.

"They went overboard," Arakan said annoyed.

"Well we now know that the villagers have confidence in you, so I have to ask, do you have as much confidence in yourselves as the villagers have in you?" Dan asked.

"Yes," the twelve genin immediately replied.

"Good. We are already at the village gates, there's no going back now," Dan said.

"Yeah especially with the fuss the villagers made," Akihiko said.

"Going back now would be downright embarrassing," Akihiro said finishing off Akihiko's sentence.

This made all the other genin excluding Ai and Aiko glare at them.

"Everyone took their scent suppressants before they left right?" Dan asked to which the genin nodded.

"Good. It's best for us not to attract any unwanted attention," Dan said.

"As we make our way out of the Land of Flowers, we are most likely to come across some feral wolves. You are all too young to deal with them so when I say run, you run and you don't look back. Am I clear?" Dan asked.

"Yes alpha!" the twelve genin responded.

"Good. We better get going if we want to make good time," Dan said.

"Right!" the genin responded then they sprinted out of the village.

The quads had never been out of the village before, so everything around them was new and exciting. Every sight, sound and smell was completely new. As they ran through the flower meadows, they didn't realise that they had picked up speed. The four of them were far ahead of everyone in their party.

"This is amazing!" Ai yelled.

"First one to the border gets the first slice of grandpa Iruka's apple pie!" Aiko yelled as she ran ahead of her fellow quads.

"You're on!" Ai yelled as she ran after her.

"Those two have way too much energy," Akihiro said.

"Yes they do," Akihiko said as they watched their cousins run ahead of them.

"We're not going to let either of them win, are we?" Akihiro asked.

"Nope," Akihiko replied as they picked up speed as well.

It wasn't long before all four quads were head to head. They raced through the meadows at top speed uprooting flowers as they went. With nothing but adrenaline fueling them the quads didn't realise that they had transformed into their wolf forms. Pretty soon four black wolves were running through the meadows. The more they ran, the faster they got. With nothing but the thought of winning on their minds, they didn't notice the destruction they caused. They didn't notice that their companions were nowhere in sight. With the border so near nothing else mattered but winning.

"What's that?" one of the border patrol officers asked when he saw a cloud of dust heading their way.

"Don't know but it's fast," another border patrol officer replied.

"It might be a feral wolf. Find the rest of the unit and tell them to get ready to kill it," one of the patrol officers said.

"Right," the officer responded.

As the quads neared the border, the border patrol officers got ready to attack. The officers threw kunai laced with snake venom at the unsuspecting quads, only for those kunai to be deflected by a gust of wind. This caused the quads to stop and growl as five patrol officers appeared and began to surround them. The closer the officers got the more agitated the quads became. The quads were still high on adrenaline so they couldn't tell whether the officers were friend or foe.

Akihiko growled in warning when he saw one of the officers take out another kunai laced with snake venom. The officer ignored the warning and walked closer ready to attack. With the officer's attention on Akihiko he didn't notice Akihiro which gave Akihiro a chance to pounce on him. Using this as a distraction, the rest of the quads attacked the remaining officers. With four officers incapacitated, the fifth officer tried to get reinforcements only to be stopped by Dan.

"Little ones, let them go," Dan said only to receive a growl in return.

The quads had their jaws on the officers' necks ready to bite down. When one officer tried to move the quads would each add pressure.

'At least they didn't kill them,' Dan thought when he saw that the officers were still breathing.

Just then five more officers appeared ready to attack. When they tried to get closer, the quads added pressure.

"Boys, I suggest you stop moving," Dan said as he pointed at the officer under Akihiko.

When the other officers saw blood dripping from their fellow officer's neck they stopped moving. One of the officers wearing a red band on his arm, indicating that he was in charge, directed his attention to Dan.

'What is he? A beta? No, can't be, beta don't use scent blockers. Maybe an alpha? No, what alpha uses scent blockers. Maybe he's an omega. The Land of Flowers is known for their strange omega,' the officer thought when he saw Dan looking at the feral wolves.

"You do know that keeping feral wolves as pets is a punishable offence?" the officer asked when he noticed that Dan seemed familiar with the feral wolves. When he got no response from Dan he said, "You are still in the Land of Flowers and the leader of the Land of Flowers doesn't take kindly to those who treat feral wolves as pets, not to mention, if those officers die he will show you no mercy."

"Do you know that the killing of feral wolves is also a punishable offence?" Dan asked.

"What?" the officer asked.

'What's with this omega?' the officer thought when Dan didn't react to his presence as an alpha.

'It seems we didn't take into account how the quads would react once they left the confines of the village,' Dan thought as he looked at the quads.

"They do look a bit feral don't they?" Dan said.

"I guess I won't kill you," Dan said making the officer tense up.

"Akihiko, Akihiro, Aiko, Ai stand down," Dan said making the quads release the officers.

The quads tried to retreat only to be stopped by Dan's overwhelming presence. Dan's commanding aura knocked the quads out of their adrenaline fueled high causing them to pass out.
