Chapter 50

Lord Agari and Victor had been hard at work for the last four days. With making plans for the chunin exams, hiring assassins, avoiding Dan like the plague, faking reports and spying on the shinobi from the Land of Flowers, you could safely say that they were exhausted. They were both exhausted (even though Victor was doing all the work). Lord Agari was taking a well “deserved” nap under a shady tree while Victor watched over the genin as they trained. As he watched the genin train he silently thought of ways to cover up their tracks. The assassins they had hired had almost gave them away. ‘I can’t believe those idiots just showed up at our door step especially with the anbu on their tail.’ thought Victor as he rubbed his temples in frustration.

‘Now I have to figure out a way to dispose of their bodies.’ thought Victor as he sighed in frustration causing the genin to stop their training. “Do you think he’s not satisfied with our performance?” asked Kou a male beta. “I don’t know. We should be asking you that. You are both beta.” said Suki a female alpha. “That only works for omega. Omega are the only ones who can tell what their fellow omega are thinking.” replied Kou. “Well in any case, we need to figure out what’s going on or Lord Agari will wring our necks for making his pet upset.” said Suki.

Kou walked over to Victor and tapped him on the shoulder. Victor who was so lost in his musing, that he didn’t hear Kou approaching him. The unexpected tap on his shoulder startled him causing him to yelp. “You startled me!” Victor exclaimed as he tried to calm his beating heart. “I’m sorry. I just wanted to ask whether you were alright?” asked Kou. Victor just blinked at him then smiled. “I assure you I’m fine. The preparations for the exams are just taking a toll on me.” said Victor as he rubbed his temples to soothe the oncoming headache. “We could help you if you want.” Kou offered. The offer made Victor smile but he knew he couldn’t take it. It was his mess to clean up and it wouldn’t be right to make children get rid of dead bodies.

“Don’t worry about it. You’re already helping me by training which you really should get back to.” said Victor as he ruffled Kou’s hair. Kou nodded and went back to his friends whereby they resumed their training. “Lord Victor.” said Zaji and Yui as they landed behind Victor startling him. “What’s with everyone and sneaking on me today?!” exclaimed Victor. “We’re sorry, it wasn’t our intention.” said Zaji. “It’s fine.” said Victor. “Victor you are panicking too loudly. Keep it down!” Lord Agari yelled with his eyes closed. “Forgive me my lord!” said Victor as he desperately tried to calm himself.
“Great! Now you’re breathing too loudly. I’m never going to get any sleep with you around.” growled Lord Agari as he stood up and walked towards Victor. “I didn’t say stop breathing.” said Lord Agari. This caused Victor, who hadn’t noticed that he was holding his breath to gasp for air. Lord Agari rolled his eyes at Victor’s antics. “Report!” said Lord Agari to the two genin in front of him though his eyes were still on Victor. “They have several anbu watching over them--” Zaji stated only to be cut off by Lord Agari’s growl.

“I know that already. We have anbu spying on us too. Go straight to the good parts.” said Lord Agari as he turned his gaze to the two genin. “The teams from the Land of Flowers are good. They have good coordination, strong battle instincts, killer instinct, accuracy, speed, a proficiency in taijustu and ninjutsu which is surprising because they just met.” said Zaji. “What do you mean they just met?” asked Lord Agari. “Apparently, their teams were thrown together at the last second.” Zaji replied. “That doesn’t make any sense. Dan isn’t one to do things without thinking them through.” said Lord Agari stroking his chin. “We also noticed that the quads are exceptional shinobi just like the elders--”

“Exceptional?” asked Lord Agari. “They are the ones who scared away the shinobi you sent after them. From what we’ve seen they are hiding their true power. They pretend to be weak when they are in front of others except for Lord Dan and some shinobi named Kakashi. I think they knew we were watching them or at least suspected it but they never made a move. When we figured this out, we kept our distance but unfortunately because of this we weren’t able to hear most of their conversations.” said Zaji. “We also noticed that there is some tension between them.” said Yui.

“Tension you say?” asked Lord Agari with a pleased smirk. “Yes, they seem to be divided. It’s the quads against the other genin even though they are on the same teams.”
“We can use this.” said Lord Agari. “Are you planning to sow some discourse in the teams?” asked Victor. “No, there’s no need. From what these genin have told me there’s already enough of that.” said Lord Agari. “You already have a plan don’t you?” asked Victor. “Yes, but I can’t implement it without seeing them in action first and I barely got the chance to observe them while they were on the ship.” said Lord Agari with a displeased sigh. “Go train with the others while Victor and I talk.” said Lord Victor to the two genin in front of him. The genin did as told leaving Lord Agari and Victor alone.

“Leave the bodies to me. I have something else in mind for you.” said Lord Agari making Victor blush. “Yes alpha. What will you have me do?” asked Victor. “The elders asked us to kidnap those four beta and that’s exactly what we will do. I need you to figure out how to do it and I’ll take care of Dan.” said Lord Agari. “As you wish alpha but I still don’t understand why we have to kill Dan.” said Victor. “Do you really think that Dan will let us near those kids without a fight? The only way we can reach them is if he is dead.” said Lord Agari.

“I’m still not convinced that, that is a good idea. The elders asked us not to hurt Dan. You know how fond they are of him. Killing him will be the end of the Land of Waves.” said Victor as he tried to reason with the stubborn alpha. “Those old coots are too blind to see what’s in front of them. That slimy Dan is plotting our downfall so I think it is better for us to get rid of him before he becomes more of a hindrance.” replied Lord Agari. “Alpha, are you sure that your judgement hasn’t been clouded by your hatred for Dan?” asked Victor.

“Victor, I may despise Dan with everything inside me but you know as well as I do that, that alpha wannabe is strong. If you feel that you can capture those beta with Dan around then be my guest!” said Lord Agari with a barely supressed growl. “How shall we proceed?” the beta asked. “Like I said, I’ll take care of Dan while you go after those beta. The elders sent over some tools to help me with Dan.” said Lord Agari. “Alright then, I’ll go to the market to acquire the wolfs bane.” said Victor to which Lord Agari nodded in approval then Victor took his leave.

‘Victor will be able to deal with those beta easily, now all I have to do is figure out how to get Dan alone. That would mean I have to find a way to get rid of his guards then I have to figure out how to dispose of those bodies. I can only keep them hidden for so long. Maybe I should just get another assistant.’ thought Lord Agari. While Lord Agari was planning, a kunai flew over his head.

“I’m so sorry alpha!” exclaimed Yui as she got down on her knees. “I beg you, have mercy.” Lord Agari looked at the girl kneeling in front of him then at the other children kneeling behind her with his cold eyes. “All of you follow me!” the alpha commanded as he made his way to the exit of the training field. He was headed in the direction of the inn he and Victor were staying at. ‘Now that I found someone to get rid of those bodies, how am I going to get Dan alone?’
