Just like a light, she was out. Her round face was filled with strange serenity, her chest rose and settled at a steady pace; signaling she had fallen into a deep sleep. Carefully, I scooped her up from the plush couch and carried her back to our room. She must have been tired out from the days strange events. Probably just as confused and exhausted as I. Hailey's eyes were red-rimed.
I breathed in and let out a heavy sigh. When she was not in our room and I could only smell a faint trace of her scent, my wolf and I began to have a panic attack. I had thought something terrible had happened, until I realized someone was masking her scent with their own. That person was the one and only, Hailey. I expected the worst when I broke the door down. As her mate betrayed us, I believed she was next. Although, I found the two curled up on the plush sofa. My kitten slowly drifting off into a slumberland after a quiet yawn and mumbled words.
Holding her with one hand, I used the other to quickly open the door to our suite. The bedroom looked too far to walk for the night, and the sofa looked much more comfortable. So, I adjusted us as I walked and splayed out on the large couch. My kitten wrapped her arms around my neck while she practically straddled me. Once we were both comfortable, I pulled the blanket from the back of the couch over us. Just like that, I was out like a light to.
--------------------------------------------
A cold draft waft over me, I groaned and peeked my eyes open to see a messy haired Laylee wrapped in the blanket that covered us both. She stumbled to the kitchen area and went to reach for the mugs in the cupboard. Unfortunately for her, they were on the highest shelf. She hopped clumsily a few times, almost losing her balance. Within seconds, I was next to her. One arm gently wrapping around her and the other reaching up for two mugs.
"There you go, babe" I murmured into her ear. A small giggle escaped her pink lips. It was one of the most perfect sounds in the whole world. Quietly, she made some Russian tea for the both of us. "Are you feeling alright Princess?" I questioned as I pulled her to sit on my lap. She nodded and laid her head in the crook of my neck. Deeply breathing in at the spot she had marked me. She examined it closer, a look of deep contemplation crossing her features. Then, as quick as the look came, it was gone. "Tell me what's wrong" I urged her as she played idly with her fingers."Yesterday," she murmured "I saw a lot of things. Scary and yet fascinating things."
I nodded for her to continue "start from the beginning" I soothingly said.
"There was a man," she paused as her eyebrows came together in concentration, "He helped me and mentioned my Dijinia and something inside of me awakened" she whispered the last part. "Then I was sent heading for the cliffs. There I found a sobbing Hailey and the most magnificent beast I've ever seem."My wolf puffed up with pride at being called magnificent. He urged me to tell our mate that it was us. I was close to giving in, now would be the perfect moment. She was currently studying the spot where her mark once was. A look of confusion dominated her soft features.
"Do you want to know something about that day, more specifically about that beast?" I questioned, a playful smirk lighting up my features.
Laylee nodded eagerly and a moved her gently off of my lap. Then removed my day old V-neck and jeans. I was only left in my boxers and her intense stare was not helping matters. I chuckled softly, then calmed my nerves and called upon my wolf. Within seconds I felt the shift in my bones, spine, arms, knees. Everything happened relatively quickly and painlessly. Stretching out, my wolf cocked his head to the side and observed our shocked mate. She didn't cower away, but she didn't step forward. A blank look crossed her face, a look that many of us have when we converse through the mind link or with our wolves.
"Dijinia" she murmured as her eyes sparkled an even brighter emerald color. "Mate" she whispered a few seconds later.
Before I knew what was happening, she was stepping forward and reaching out to pet me. Huffing, I let her run her delicate fingers through my thick chestnut fur. I laid there, then turned my head to the side and licked her face. A loud squeal left her mouth and then a giggle soon followed. My wolf let out a barking laugh of his own."Change back you meanie" she chuckled as she wiped her face off with a towel. I did as she said and shifted. Her eyes roamed over my body, then landed the region where boxers once were. As her gaze never wavered from my manhood, it began to grow hard and quite erect. It stood at attention, just for her.
I coughed and went to cover myself, she was about to protest and I cut her off "you do not want to keep staring at it like that little mate." I groaned and she pouted.
"But I've never seen one before" a blush crossed her cheeks "and it's huge. How does one of those, fit in me?" She questioned innocently.
I laughed a bit, "It'll fit, love. Don't worry about that." I went to the bedroom and found a pair of boxers that would do. Turns out, she had followed me. I stepped into them, then laid out on the bed next to her. Laylee turned towards me, and squirmed a little closer. "how did you know the term mate?" I questioned, tucking her hair behind her ear.
"Damien, the man, broke a barrier in my mind. There is this voice now. Her name is Zelefine. She kept repeating it when you turned into a wolf" she replied in a soft tone.
"Do you know what you are?" I asked softly, moving my hands to rest on her hips.
"No, but he said I was like him. Then he disappeared, into the water. But you're a werewolf, right?"
I nodded " yes, I am. I'm the leader of a pack. I'm going to be a leader of two soon enough. You will be my Co-leader. My Luna. My life." I kissed her gently and she pulled back.
"So," she laughed "I feel like this is crazy and I need breakfast. Badly." she hummed softly to herself as she made her way back to the kitchen. Swaying her hips back and forth.
