Before I start this chapter, please forgive me if anything in here is wrong. I have no idea how a proposal goes, and my Dad never properly proposed to my Mom, so-

Eren and Armin were laying wrapped up in each others arms, enjoying the peace that settled over the room. Mathilda was asleep in her crib, and it gave them time to talk and hold each other. Armin laid on his side, and Eren wrapped around him from behind, clinging to him like a koala.

"Armin?"

"Yes?"

It was quiet for a minute before Eren spoke again.

"Have you thought of marriage before?"

Blue eyes widened at the question. He hadn't expected that to come from him.

"Well, yeah, of course I have. Why?"

"Well, I've been thinking about it a lot lately. And I could never see myself with anyone but you."

Armin turned in the brunette's arms to face him.

"What are you trying to say?"

"Well... Here, sit up for me." He said, pulling Armin up with him. He reached over into his nightstand drawer and then turned back.

"Armin, I know we're still just basically kids. It's a little early for marriage, but never too early for a promise. I know it's not much," Eren continued, holding out an open ring box to Armin. "But this is our promise to each other, that we'll get married. No certain dates, just whenever it comes around." He smiled as he looked into his eyes.

"So, what do you say?"

Armin's eyes watered, and he nodded, jumping up and wrapping his arms around his neck.

"Yes! Oh of course, yes!"

Eren laughed, and tried to shush Armin and keep from waking Mathilda. Their lips quickly connected, and they parted just as quick as Eren pulled back.

"Give me your hand, babe." Eren said, holding his hand out expectantly.

Inside the box were two rings. Both were silver, and obviously different sizes.

Armin laughed and did as he was told, letting Eren slip the smaller ring onto his finger. Eren handed him the box and Armin did the same for him with the other ring. He closed the box, set it on the bed next to him and got up to climb into his lap and connect their lips again.

"Remember that Mathilda's still in here." Eren reminded him.

"I know, don't worry. I'm not that impulsive." Armin said with a smile, connecting their lips again.

"I love you..." The blonde whispered when they parted. Eren looked up at him and smiled.

"I love you, too..."

They were quiet and remained still for about 20 minutes. It was after that time that Mathilda started to wake up.

They both made their way to the other side of the bed to greet her. They watched her stretch and clumsily try to throw her blanket off. But it was wrapped around her. So, she stood up and shook it off before looking up and seeing her parents looking at her, lovingly.

"Good morning, babygirl." Eren spoke in the quiet room.

"Hi, Daddy." Her voice was hoarse from sleep, and her arms were up in expectance. He chuckled and lifted her up.

"Do you need a diaper change?"

She nodded and rubbed her eyes, still tired and not ready to wake up. He gently laid her back on the changing blanket.

"I'll change poopy pants, Mommy. Do you want to get her a bottle?" He asked Armin. He smiled and laughed, but nodded. He looked in her crib, and found it by her pillow. Soon, he left the room to get her some milk while Eren changed her.

By the time Eren was done, Armin was back with her bottle. He kept it put aside as he picked the girl up to dress her.

"What color?"

She looked at the 4 different colors laid out, blue, pink, yellow, red, but she saw no green."

"Gween?"

Armin sighed, but pulled the green ones from the hamper to avoid a tantrum. They were her favorite color, after all.

"Okay, but tomorrow you can't wear green. I have to wash them."

"Ok. I wear dis 'morrow." She said as she handed him the pink onesie. He smiled and put it on top of the drawer for tomorrow, and the others were put away.

She reached and unsnapped her own onesie, laughing as the sound they made when they pulled apart. Once it was open, she slid her arms out, before reaching for help. Armin let her hold his shoulders and step out of the onesie before putting her green one under her; ready to be stepped into.

And that's what she did. When it was on all of the way, the blonde laid her down to snap it shut. While he did that, Eren's face popped up in her vision and he looked upside down from her view, making her giggle. He smiled and kissed the top of her head before offering Mathilda her pacifier. She took it and was then pulled up by Armin.

"Do you want to go eat?" He asked her. She shook her head, which Eren suspected. She climbed off of the bed and went to play with the wood blocks she had in the corner instead.

"I don't think she's much of a morning person. She'll eat later, don't worry." Eren assured the blonde. He nodded and joined her on the ground, playing along with whatever she did.

"Mommy read?" Mathilda asked him, walking over to him with a book. It was about three siblings who worked together to protect the world from dangers of an unknown villain. It was her favorite so far.

"Sure, baby. Go say bye bye to Daddy first, he's gotta go work outside." Armin told the girl, smiling down at her. She giggled and set the book into his hands before running to Eren while he was on the floor, putting his boots on.

"You go work Daddy?" She asked, a pout set on her face. He smiled sadly and nodded.

"Yeah, Daddy's got to work. I'll be back before lunch, okay? I love you."

"Love you, too." She said and kissed his cheek. He laughed and kissed her forehead and walking over to Armin and doing the same.

"I'll be back at lunch, love you guys!" His voice boomed and bounced off of the walls. They both waved him off and he walked out of the door. After he left, Mathilda walked back over to Armin and plopped into his lap, making the latter laugh and place a kiss to her head. He handed her the bottle that Eren had left on the nightstand.

"Okay, let's see where we left off here..." He stated, opening the book to the marked page.
