The boy toddled over to where she stood in the kitchen.
"Whatcha doin' in here, Tilly?"
"Let's make a lil room! Look, we can go in here!" She proclaimed proudly while opening up a kitchen cabinet. It was empty, and quite spacious. She looked back and saw Jonah smile.
"Okay! Should we tell Dad and Papa?" He asked. But she shook her head.
"Nuh-uh! This is our secret spot! Can't tell!"
Jonah just smiled and nodded.
"Okay. What do we do in it?"
They both sat and though for a while about what they should use their hidey hole for, before Jonah snapped his fingers (a new development that Mathilda was soon amazed by).
"Ooh! We should make a comfy spot! So we can play toys!" He said. Her eyes lit up and she nodded.
"Yeah! Now we need stuff to put in there to make it comfy!"
Then they were on the hunt for extra blankets and pillows.
They went to their room and collected all of their blankets and their two pillows before sneaking back into the kitchen. They took their time to lay them out smoothly and fold them right, until they had it exactly how they wanted it.
"Perfect! Ready to play, Jojo?" Mathilda asked him while she climbed into their hidden room. He smiled and nodded.
"Yeah! Now it will be nice and quiet!"
They got in and snuggled into their blankets and played with their stuffed animals.
"Eren! Have you seen Mathilda or Jonah anywhere?" Armin called from their room as the brunette walked in.
"No, I haven't seen them at all today. Where are they?"
Armin frowned at the statement.
"I'm not sure. I haven't seen them since they ran off to play after lunch. But that was like two hours ago."
Eren patted his back and smiled.
"We'll just start looking around for them, no big deal! We just have to remember that this place is huge. They're probably just on a floor they're not supposed to be on, messing up a room they shouldn't be in." He laughed. Armin seemed to relax as they went hunting for their children.
The two were curled up together in their respective blankets, reading a book with a flashlight shining onto the pages. Jonah had found it in their room, in their Dad's dresser.
"Jonah? Do you think that Daddy and Papa are worried?"
Jonah thought about it for a while before shrugging.
"I don't know. Maybe we should go back in a little bit."
She nodded and they stayed in their hiding spot until they eventually fell asleep.

Armin and Eren were now frantically searching every single room for the two kids. But suddenly, Levi comes from around the corner.
"What the hell are you two searching for?"
They told him what happened and how long they'd been missing. He sighed and rubbed his forehead.
"Have you looked in any small spaces? Like cabinets or closets that they could've fallen asleep in?"
The two looked at each other before slapping their foreheads.
"Cabinets! Mathilda's always playing in them! Why didn't we think of that?" Eren explained aloud. They ran to the kitchen, a small 'thanks' being shouted to Levi as they hurried off.
After a glance into only 3 different cabinets, they found Mathilda and Jonah curled up together, napping in a cabinet. The older pair sighed and each took their time carefully getting them out and collecting the blankets from inside. They took them up to their room and tucked them into their beds.
"They need a new hidey-hole. Sleeping and playing in a cabinet near a stove is not a good idea." Armin pointed out. The brunette nodded.
"Yeah, it's pretty unsafe and very possibly unsanitary."
"Jojo? How did we get to bed?" Mathilda asked as she sat up and rubbed her eyes. Jonah shrugged as he also sat up.
"I dunno. Maybe Papa or Dad found us?"
They got up and walked out of the room together. But, once they saw what was in the living room, they separated from each other and ran in.
"Dad! Papa! How did you do this?!!" Jonah asked with a sparkle in his eyes.
"Wooaah!!" Mathilda shouted with a huge smile.
Armin and Eren laughed.
"Tada!! Daddy and I made you guys a new fort!" Armin said while gesturing his arms toward the makeshift fort.

Eren bent down to their levels, placing a hand on each of their shoulders.
"Where you guys hid last night was a pretty dangerous spot to be in. That cabinet was right next to the oven. If something had caught on fire in the oven, you guys could've gotten really hurt. Especially since you didn't tell us where you were."
They both looked at their feet guiltily.
"Sorry, Dad/Sorry Daddy." The two said at the same time. Then Jonah looked up.
"We didn't mean to fall asleep, Dad. We were just tryna play and we made it too comfy inside. We got really tired."
Eren chuckled.
"I know. But I just want you guys to know that it was a very unsafe decision. You have to tell us where you are, and never hide in dangerous places. Okay?"
They both nodded, and he nodded back in affirmation.
"Okay," Eren began, "You can go have fun in your fort."
They smiled and ran to the corner of the living room to play with the toys that were placed in the fort already.
