When the next day rolled around, I began to think about all of those people who we fought with and got away.
It'd been my first appearance outside of Ash's gang. There were possibilities of some of those guys being involved with Golzine, or hearing about me and wanting to turn me in for hopes of getting money.
I needed to change how I look as much as I can- enough so people who give a glance or two my way would just gloss over me without a second thought. Kind of like a "she kind of looks like that one girl, but she doesn't match the description" type of gloss over.
It was the best I could hope for since I can't really change much about how I look.
So, I took a pair of scissors and cut my hair in the bathroom mirror. Before I started, I had hair that went below the shoulders. Now, it hovered just above them. I even gave myself some long bangs.
When I was finished it wasn't too bad. I could dye my hair, but it would probably just make me stand out more. Next, I had snagged a box of brown contact lenses. My eyes are naturally a greenish/brown, so having them be completely dark brown was sure to throw some people off.
I didn't plan on wearing them all the time though, just every know and then when I go out.
And that was pretty much all I could do. Ash agreed the changes would help and I look completely different from hair alone, which was good.
All that's left that I can do was pray.
