Mirae ran to the door, joining the crowd of guests already gossiping about Kit's return. "What if they're sending back a murderer? The lack of evidence doesn't guarantee that he's innocent," The woman in her 30's said behind her. Mirae slowly turned around, facing the woman with a glare. "Excuse me?" The woman asked, noticing it.

"Having no evidence of dirty work doesn't mean a person's righteous. You're talking shit about Kit, but you're also one cheap-ass bitch who poisoned her husband to get his money. You're Lucy Shin, aren't you?" The said woman gasped, offended at Mirae's words. "Rumors are spreading about you too. Keep it shut. You're no different."

Right after that, Mirae squeezed herself in to get to the front. She wanted to meet Kit first before all the gossipers by the door. Although, she always felt ashamed because of her statement. Still, Kit must've understood her situation.

A black car pulled up, and Kit's parents stepped out first. His mother opened the backseat door for him. It took a while before Kit also went out, wearing a black mask and an oversized hoodie. They walked towards the door, and everyone suddenly backed away, leaving Mirae the only person close by.

Kit's parents bid him goodbye and left him just outside the hotel. They had to sort out the problems in their company brought by the issue. Kit didn't want them to come with him either. They already did everything they could while he was with the police.

As he went in, Kit noticed the judging stares of the people in the room. He lowered his head in shame. Even if there isn't enough evidence against him, they would always think of him as a murderer.

"Kit," Mirae grabbed his right arm, her eyes filled with guilt and worry. Her heart raced, not knowing how he would react to her. "How are you feeling--" Kit suddenly yanked his arm forcefully, making Mirae almost lose her balance. "Kit?"

"Get lost," he said without glancing at her before walking briskly towards the elevator.

Mirae was left dumbfounded. "Get lost?" She repeated in a bewildered tone. "What do you mean 'get lost'?!" She shouted and ran to the stairs, wanting to meet him before Kit could enter his room. "Kit!" She called when she reached his floor.

Kit was on his way to his room. He clearly heard Mirae call his name but ignored it on purpose. Mirae had no choice but to run to him because he wouldn't stop. She blocked his way to the door and held both his arms.

"Get lost?" She asked him. "Where is this coming from? Why are you pushing me away?"

"I'm tired. Can you bother me some other day?" Kit reached out for the doorknob, but Mirae held it first and looked at him with her eyes wide open.

"B...Bother?!" Mirae scoffed, looking at him all confused. "Is this because you thought I went against you?! You got convinced that I betrayed you?! Is that what this is about?!"

Kit aggressively pulled the mask off his face and looked at her with rage. "You said I could trust you. You said you'd help me clear my name. I told you everything, but you didn't even side with me! You told them you only had suspicions against me! You painted me as the murderer, Mirae! You, of all people..."

"They fucking forced me! Do you think I wanted to do it?! Do you think it was easy for me to say that Kit Kim had a fucking knife in his room?! Am I that shameless?!"

"Maybe you are!" Mirae's lips trembled. "I honestly don't care what you are anymore. Stay away from me," Kit said in the most disgusted tone and pulled Mirae away from the door.

The latter was left speechless as she watched Kit enter his room. He slammed the door at her, making Mirae jolt and close her eyes.

Before she knew it, her eyes began to water. No one has insulted and offended her like that her whole life. It felt worse because she got wronged. Kit wouldn't believe her anymore because of what her parents made her do.

"Mirae!" Lloyd arrived and ran to meet her. "Did you talk to Kit? The guests said you followed him." Lloyd looked at Kit's door and sighed. "We only need the real murder weapon. They wouldn't bring him in again once we get our hands on it."

"Forget it," Mirae said and walked away.

Lloyd was confused and turned to her. "Why? You were eager to help him earlier. We couldn't clear Kit's name if we don't find that thing."

"What does he have to do with me?!" Mirae suddenly looked at him. Lloyd noticed the tears in her eyes and wondered. "I think I had my guard down all this time. I believed he wasn't guilty that easily."

"Mirae-"

"It could be Kit Kim, and that knife was the real one. And the story he told could be all twisted because he needed people to side with him. I hope the police find something against him again soon. He can rot in jail for all I care." Mirae showed no emotion except for her tears which implied something. "You're on your own, Lloyd. I'm sorry." She faced ahead and continued walking to the elevator.

Lloyd was left standing in front of Kit's room with many questions. "They argued, didn't they?" He took a step close and rang the doorbell.

It didn't take a second before Kit opened the door with his eyes filled with tears. "What else do you want--" He stopped, realizing it wasn't Mirae. "Oh." He wiped his tears and cleared his throat to ask. "Do you need anything?"

Lloyd hesitated. Kit doesn't seem to be in the condition for more questions about Kane. He probably had worse questions from the new detective. "N-Not at the moment. I wanted to see how you were. I guess I came at the wrong time." He bowed and scratched the back of his head.

"I don't want to see anyone today. I hope you understand," Kit said and closed the door.

"I can see that. He must've been frustrated about what Mirae did. And Mirae must've been frustrated because Kit was mad at her. I can't blame them. They were both in a tight spot." Lloyd pressed his lips and sighed. "Right. Why hasn't Winnie Park approached me yet?" Lloyd turned around and took the stairs, heading to Winnie's room.

On his way there, he noticed Winnie's door was suspiciously open. Out of worry, he ran towards the room and pushed the door open. His eyes grew wide, seeing France Park holding Winnie's unconscious body. "Mr. Park!" He shouts, getting France's attention. "What are you doing to her?!"

"I didn't do anything! I just got here a few seconds before you and found her on the floor." France carried Winnie in his arms in panic. "I'll take her to the clinic. I think someone broke in and strangled her."

Lloyd furrowed his brows, noticing the marks on her neck. "Why..."

"Ah! Get out of the way!!" France shouts, making Lloyd step out of the room. He sprinted to the elevator with Winnie in his arms.

"Why would anyone strangle Winnie Park? Could it be the video she was talking about?" Lloyd returned inside and looked for Winnie's phone. He searched the bed, remembering that Winnie said she left it on the bed earlier. To his disappointment, the phone wasn't there. "Where would she put it?" He left the bedroom and searched the living room this time. There, he found the phone on the couch, making him sigh in relief. "At least that person didn't steal this," he said before leaving to check on France and Winnie in the clinic.
