"..Wh-What..?" Ezra asked, his voice breaking.. "Guys calm down! What's up with you two?" Jalen was concerned. " Do you not understand? That isn't Ezra.." Clayton said, his face looked serious. "I still don't understand, I'm sorry, but you'll have to give me a real reason.." Jalen stood between Clayton and Ezra very sturn, he'd made himself quite clear that he didn't plan on moving without an excellent reason.. "Think about this for a second.. Ezra doesn't seem tired at all. Right?" Clayton asked very calm but aggravated. "Right.." Jalen didn't see Clayton's point by that one sentence. "Which means he could still use his power, and become much smarter than all of us, but he isn't tired enough to not be able to use his power. He has plenty of energy. So why didn't he? Why does he still have no idea what I meant? Unless someone's pretending to be Ezra, and sneaking in right under our noses.." Clayton's tone shifted from calm to smug at random points. "That's-" Jalen thought about disagreeing with Clayton. But was met with the realization Clayton had a great point "That's a good point.." Jalen turned to face Ezra, then stepped away from the two. "I think your game is over..Who are you..Really.." Clayton didn't seem like he was even asking a question, but just saying it with a very sturdy tone. Clayton's tone almost implied he was going to get an answer.."I thought only he was the smart one.." The person who looked like Ezra said. The person deactivated their power, "I'm Morgan, I can shapeshift, you guys are a lot smarter than you look. But you're still not smart enough..Your friend Ezra's back with Hailee.." Morgan gave them an explanation. The only person who's face wasn't filled with shock was Clayton, he'd expected to meet the fifth member of Hailee's team soon anyway.."So they have Ezra..?" Sam was shocked. "Yup! Unless he's super crafty! But I didn't take that guy as much of an athlete.." Morgan didn't seem threatened by their group in the slightest. "I was also worried that Emily girl was here! But she isn't! That also seemed a little odd to me though..Our team didn't find her.." Morgan said. "If you weren't on Hailee's team, I'd think you were really cool.." Sam said. All of them were on the same page, Morgan was nice, but none of them wanted to deal with Hailee. "Thank you! Oh! And you guys might wanna run soon, or now.." Morgan warned. "Why?" Jalen asked. "Well you guys don't want to die! Do you?" Morgan was trying to protect them from Hailee, who was near them, about to pounce like a cat on the prowl.. "Oh..Thanks, I guess we will..Alright team split up!" Clayton took Morgan's warning. Before he left he said, "Thanks again Morgan.." Morgan smiled and replied. "Maybe we can hangout sometime after this!" Morgan was a really good person. So how did she ever end up being friends with Hailee? "Yeah.." Clayton said as he walked down a hallway away from the rest of the group and Morgan. "What happened Morgan? I thought you said you had this! Where'd they go!?" Hailee was angry and upset, they were so close to winning but Morgan saved them..Couldn't say the same thing about Morgan's friendship with Hailee. Clayton was out of their train of sight, but just around a corner. He peeked over to look for Ezra, but there was no sign of him.. "How are we supposed to win!? Time is almost up! And we haven't even captured 1 of them!" Hailee hadn't gotten Ezra! Clayton was relieved when he knew time was almost up..This nightmare would finally be over. Clayton caught someone running past Hailee in the other hall. Not even a second later they were grabbed. "What's this?" Hailee was using a form of Light wip to hold onto him. Clayton noticed the person they had grabbed was Sam. What is he thinking! If he gets tagged out we aren't actually able to win! Clayton thought.He knew he would have to find a way to save Sam. "You're that Sam guy.. You just ran into us like a lamb to the slaughter!" Hailee was making fun of Sam's careless actions. "You know your entire team is going to be so disappointed in you when they find out you're the reason they didn't win!." Veronica was messing with Sam's head..Clayton just sat and watched, he was getting aggravated with Sam, Hailee, and anyone on Hailee's team. But what could he do..? As far as he knew he had no control over his power! It might not even work anymore! "Please! We're going to beat you! And when we do, you can kiss your perfect reputation goodbye!" Sam was trying to be smug, but it was obvious he had no idea if he could beat her, or get away from her. "Good luck with that! In case you haven't heard! She's a Daywalker! Nothing can beat her!" Abby said, very confident in her team. After all she got extremely lucky to be on it. "Correction. Only a Nightwalker could beat her.." Morgan said. People were so used to Hailee being on top, that they forget she's not unstoppable. "I mean it's not like those things just roam around!" Hailee was confident in her ability to best everyone.. Meanwhile Clayton was fed up with their chatting.. "You're not gonna win! My team's going to make sure you lose!" Sam was fighting Hailee's every move, he wanted Hailee's reputation to fall more than anyone on their entire team. "And how are you go-" Hailee was interrupted by Clayton. Who somehow managed to teleport to Sam, with dark cyan after effects. "Easy Hailee..First you're going to shut up. Then we're gonna make sure you can't find us.." Clayton was serious, he was more confident due to the fact he was actually teleporting around again. "What!? How did you do that!?" Hailee was shocked by Clayton teleporting, she thought he was a powerless nobody that got into their school because of money.. "A little bit of this, a little bit of that..Now we'll be off, after all, only 20 seconds left on the clock." Clayton pointed up, and teleported him and Sam away. "Woah! How did you-" Sam was about to trample Clayton with questions, when the clock above the maze went off. They were transported outside of the maze. And to their class's shock, Clayton's team won.. Instead of being grumpy, Hailee walked over to Clayton and held out her hand as if trying to shake Clayton's. "Let's start over.. I'm Hailee Makens, would you like to hang out with me and my friends?" Clayton was shocked by Hailee's change of mood. He looked back to his team, they were confused. But they agreed to let him hangout with Hailee, at least a little bit. "Clayton Korosu! Also, sure!" He shook Hailee's hand and walked over to her group with her. "Alright team, I don't do this often, but this is Clayton. I saw the way he performed in the maze, and I think he deserves a chance to hang out with us." Her team looked at him in astoundment. "This is Abby Scott, Sara Scolder, Veronica Lanes, and Morgan Kens! The best and strongest students in the school!" They all seemed quite friendly after you're actually hanging out with them. He decided to walk with them through the day, Hailee asked Mrs. Harvard if Clayton's desk could be moved over next to hers. Clayton wasn't expecting Hailee to favor him so much, now that he was considered Hailee's friend, he could get away with murder. "Hey Clayton!" Hailee said. "Yeah?" Clayton responded not looking up from his paper.. "Okay.. 1 You don't have to actually do this." She grabbed Clayton's paper from his desk and ripped it up. "And 2 come meet me outside by the school entrance after school." What did Hailee need? He would only know after school, the rest of the day played out by him walking around with Hailee, when it was time to start packing he went back to his locker, which happened to be beside his team's lockers. "How's it going with Hailee hot stuff.?" Sam said as he stepped beside Clayton. "Hey Sam. What's with the nickname?" Clayton didn't mind, but he was still curious. "Have you not heard? Everyone's calling you the star of the hour! The one who somehow beat Hailee and then joined her group!" Emily said very excited. "And now no one's calling us losers!" Jalen added.
That was great, they were getting recognised, and no one made fun of them. What they didn't was Clayton didn't even mean to beat Hailee. "Well I'm gonna go. Don't miss me too much!" Clayton yelled jokingly. "Trust me, we won't!" Sam yelled back. Clayton almost forgot Hailee asked him to meet up with her at the front door outside. "Hey Clayton..You know I'm a Daywalker, so I've researched as much as I can on Nightwalkers..Your teleportation.." Hailee was making it clear why she wanted to talk to Clayton.. She saw his face drown out. "I'm right! Aren't I..You're a Nightwalker!" Clayton nodded. "Yeah..If you would, tell the group, and Mrs.Harvard.." Clayton wasn't that ashamed of his power. " Alright.. But imagine! You're the only Nightwalker to ever work with a Daywalker! You're making history!" That was going to make him and Hailee really close.
