Two weeks later

Thursday 3:00 PM

I'm sitting in Ethan's den doing my assignment with Kadi and Daryl who are on video chat.

"Wah yuh no lef mi alone Daryl," I laugh.

"Ano lie mi a tell, mi woulda breed yuh again if I was Alex. Mi never see a pregnant gyal look so good yet!" He says with all the extraness that he comes with.

"One pickney alone mi a have so yuh can gwaan chat," I grin at him and he kisses his teeth.

"Mi ago have a talk wid yuh husband because if me coulda give him a pickney mi surely dweet," he says and Kadi and I burst out laughing.

"Yuh nah stop lust offa mi husband bwoi? Look how yuh man stay good and yuh still nah lef mine alone," I grin at him.

"Ahmmm nope, yuh husband is sex on legs and even though mi fraid a him mi still like wah mi see. Plus yuh have mi man a foreign fi over a month so dat mek it worse," he says and I scream out in laughter.

I genuinely love Daryl, his energy has given me life through my rough and lonely times here.

"Enough bout yuh husband, mi seh d one Kadian no stop gwaan wid har self enuh Shan," he shares but Kadi starts laughing.

"Daryl shut up no," she says.

"Nope, Shan other day mi lef class and yuh know mi always walk her go over d hall. So mi walk go over Humanities fi go wait pon her. Girl no tell mi seh she nah go over enuh.

A Mercedes Benz mi see pull up a mi foot wid her tired baddi man inna it a ask mi fi har. Mi mek sure tell dem seh dem need fi drop mi over cus mi waan drive inna Benz too.

She nah more than me! And yuh know seh d gyal sleep out too and Jermaine drop her a school d next morning inna new clothes," he shares and Kadi and I are dying with laughter.

"How yuh know seh a new clothes?" I question.

"Mi know har clothes dem, duh," he responds and I shake my head.

Germs had called to ask if he could give Kadi something from my closet because he didn't want her to leave.

They've been dating steadily for about two months now and Alex gave him permission to bring her on the property. She has been spending a lot of time there and Mummy says that she likes her for Germs.

Leah told me that Germs is sprung, he asked her for cooking lessons because he wanted to make breakfast for Kadi.

I haven't gotten a chance to talk to him yet because I hope he's not still fooling around with that other girl.

"Daryl mi don't like yuh," Kadi says.

"Girl you love me, stop lying," he says and I shake my head.

"Nya," I hear Alex calling me.

"Oh that voice," Daryl swoons.

"Gweh no... yeah babe?" I answer and he walks into the den.

"Are you almost done?" He asks.

"Yep, maybe thirty more minutes," I tell him.

"Ok come find me when you're done," he says and I nod.

"Hi Daryl, Kadian," he says.

"Hi Alex," they say in unison, he doesn't say anything else he just leaves.

"Shan, what's Alex doing for your birthday?" Daryl asks and I shrug my shoulders.
